So, for some odd reason I began searching through a drawer which I hardly ever go near and what did I find?
I found an old WD My Passport external hard drive, you know, the one with a USB connector to a pc.

I wonder what's on THIS?

I found the unmentionable in this day and age.
I found a version of a very old mod.
I asked myself, I wonder if the music is on it and does it work?
Yes and I enjoyed the desert music of that mod...

I then asked myself, I wonder if it will load up, but I'll now have to install it on Steam...
I installed it and tinkered around a little, well you know, it is about 6 YEARS ? since I even looked at this work...

I was trying to remember HOW to install mods and get them to work. Gosh, this is so strange to be doing this in 2024.

I got it to load up and work.

I've NO idea as to what state this mod is in and I'm certainly NOT going to be working on it.
BUT, if you are interested in playing it AND IT IS from 2014, well if you show any interest and I remember to come back here a look, well we'll see what happens.

HIO...nice to see you again....always felt sad that paradox mods drove a hard core modder like yourself from the game...hope all is well with you and if you looking at dh you might also take a look at AOD when the 13.0 patch is release...it looks like it be better than dh and 14.o aod patch will have new map. IF (NOT VERY LIKELY I KNOW) YOU FEEL LIKE MODDING...A NEW VERSION OF YOUR homeland WOULD be nice (as i said not likely but had to put it out there) take care cya

Funny you should mention the Homeland mod as this was also withdrawn because I was sent one of those Decease and Desist ? warnings from a legal firm in USA. Yeah, unbelieveable I know. I remember there was a tv show called "Homeland" and they must have thought I was trying to copy them or whatever?

THIS attached below, IS the Putin Mod, the last version from 2016.
It contains many many modern units, images and whatever for a MODERN DAY SCENARIO mod if anyone is interested in taking it up and working on it.
I'm way too old now to even remember how to mod, so you are welcome.

I mean, just change the name of the mod, the main images and you have a modern day scenario pretty much. Thanks and God Bless.

OK, I tried to attach it as a compressed file and it is too big. I'll come back after I have sorted out a solution.

Is the Homeland mod available somewhere? I had a great time playing it back when it released.

Yep, no idea why a copyright firm would even know of a darkest hour mod unless they just search the name up in google and somehow found the mod page as it was a top result.

I know there is a hard limit to the size of files here to limit bandwidth and server space given running a forum like this isn’t cheap.

Guess my update of the mod to 1.05 is going to be obsolete soon as 1.06 will be coming out soon.
