I posted about this in the general forum a week or so ago, but it didn't occur to me to post about it here until now.

Anyway, it seems to me that nuclear reactors have been broken. Nuclear reactors used to (in base HoI2 all the way up to Armageddon, anyway) boost atomic and nuclear research in the same way rocket test sites boost rocket research. They also increased the rate of atomic bomb production, so if you had 10 reactors and all the A-bomb technologies researched, you could be getting around 1-2 a month.

In AoD, however, both those functionalities are broken. I noticed no difference in research time for nuclear or atomic research from zero reactors all the way up to 10. In addition, despite having my reactor at level 10 and having researched Miniaturized Fission Bomb, I'm getting about 1-2 atomic bombs a year, instead of the 1-2 a month that was the standard before.

I understand nukes aren't a very significant part of the gameplay for a lot of people, but I'm just too fond of building up a nice stockpile of them and turning my enemies into radioactive glass. I hope this gets fixed soon. Thanks! :)

that's perhaps why they reduced the amount nukes being predouced. it's going to be OP if it's very easy to build nukes and get at least 12 nukes a year. (then again, if it was possible people could make it that it can be 12 nukes an month instead)

I can only agree with the original poster. Nuclear reactors appear broken entirely, neither adding to tech speedup, nor increasing production rates of nuclear weapons. I've yet to check, but I suspect nuclear techs miniturised fission bomb will also not work.

I'm with the OP and I hope this isn't WAD. Whilst nuclear weapons should not be a mainstay of the game, I'd like to 'reserve the right' to use them, and use them liberally if needed. Seems to me, at the moment, there is no point researching any nuclear tech (unless you want energy) or building any reactors. Surely this can't be right?
