It's the world's first documentary about the future, in game form!

Haha awesome!

Seriously, I was reading that article just waiting to get to the paragraph where they mention your game! It would have been so appropriate if you guys got a shout out! : )

Aha, at least now NATO knows they should expect betrayal from a certain country :p

From a serious point of view now, the conflict portrayed in this game is rather plausible, to an extent (well, if they had gone to a fully plausible scenario the game wouldn't be much fun. ;)

There are alot of signs in several countries showing more and more focus to the arctic. Norway for example moved their HQ to the north close do Bodö if I'm not mistaken. Russian are doing a major military reform including more forces in the arctic region. Canada are struggling with their new submarines getting operational. Both Canada and US are working to expand their military bases close to arctic. This is some of it and more is to come.

Unfornatly I think this is the future, maybe 2030?

It is dangerous just to operate in these areas, let along fight in them. What if there is a major accident while getting the goodies the arctic holds??? Where will responsibility fall?? The minimal population also means that little military 'mis-haps' are less likely to make the evening news, and far more likely to happen!

wow, this is the third time i can think of where the events of a computer game have almost occured in the real world after the game's release.

the first was the interesting plot of the first ghost recon game had some parallels with the 2008 Russo Georgian war

the second being that the Backstory of homefront almost nailed the death date of Kim Jong Il

que twilight zone theme :)

Another one is Combat Mission: Shock Force, it's based on an ipothetic invasion of Siria by NATO in 2008, the game begin it's developement back in 2005; with today's situation in Siria who know if it became real.

Actually conflict in the Artic is possible due to the melting ice caps. It has been known long before that story/news came out.

NWAC(Turbo Tape) obviously knew that the scenario is likely and tried to make a game out of the setting. So thus it is not predicting anything but rather making a possible scenario into a game.
