Did you know that bananas are berries, but strawberries aren't? It's a bit counterintuitive, but according to botanical classification, bananas qualify as berries because they develop from a flower with a single ovary, while strawberries, despite their name, are not technically berries because they develop from a flower with multiple ovaries.
