Greetings all! While I do plan to eventually get back to "The Butterfly Device", I thought I'd play around with a new format for a while: cheesy poetry!

My "game rules" are pretty much the usual...roleplay as each leader, follow the Kings of England even if it changes dynasties, etc. And I'll even pretend that this will be a grand campaign, but I'm sure most of you have caught on by now that I don't have the attention span to actually accomplish that. :D

But the big difference, as you've probably already guessed, will be that each update will be written as cheesy poetry. Enjoy!

(By the way, does anyone know a good image-hoster for here? I usually use photobucket, but it's blocked on this (work) computer.

Thanks!

Twas the year ten sixty-six,
When Duke William’s men, with swords and sticks,
Did leave the shores of Normandy,
And cross the channel ‘tween the sea.

And when the last of blood did spill,
And the last of the Duke’s men did kill,
The Duke, though he was bastard born,
Did hear the trumpet of royal horn.

But once the Duke sat on the throne,
He turned his back on all of Rome,
Such that Pope Alex did decree,
“By God, I do excommune thee! “

“And furthermore,” the pope did add,
“A thousand florins for his head,
“And God’s backing for the royal crown,
“For he who brings the bastard down.”

Soon Kings and Counts and peasants all,
Resolved to cause the King’s great fall,
While his friends and allies fled, saved face,
For an un-civil war was taking place.

It's sad to hear that you are blocked
From photobucket, 'cause it rocked
to be able to host your pictures there,
so that on a PC Anywhere
one could see those pics in all their glory
and while those pics augment the story
you have to find another host.
The one that I myself use most
which might be able to do the trick
is the imagehost named tinypic.
Formally known as tinypic.com
it is the place where MY pictures come from.

(speaking about cheesy rhymes....)

This seems awful
As if it's written
By an offal
But alas, I'm smitten
So go on,
Lest I murder a kitten.

The idea is novel, I give you that
I already got the rhyming stuck in my head
I will be following most eagerly
this AAR must last for a while surely

though not renowned for their longevity
your AAR's are always bursting with creativity
they are beautiful while they last
but must they always be over so fast

I am forced to ask myself the question why
you have the attention span of a butterfly
fluttering from thread to thread
when a new idea pops into your head

still it is a wonderful start
you could begin a career as a bard
I can't wait to see some more
and read about the next king's lore

;)

Man, I would like to comment and laud the idea and the execution, but my rhyming ability is nil, and I'm afraid to be laughed at if commenting in prose. :eek:o

Nice one, Actinguy! :)
