he aslo said i need to open these ports 6112-6119, 4000

i'm pretty computer illiterate, but i have no where else to turn and i know that the good ppl at paradox are very helpfull and nice ;)

Access your router through software or the IP address, you should be able to find that info in your router manual.
If you have a software firewall you may also have to fix that, the procedure would depend on which one you have.
Your best bet is to look at the manual for that as well.

do u have more of a step by step thing

i'm pretty bad with computers

As I mentioned it depends on the make and model of your router and/or the software you are using.

ok how do i find out wat i'm using?

i know i got the service pack 2 for windows xp and i'm using Macfee Security Center for virus protection.

Sounds like maybe you should have a friend that knows computers come over and set you up.
The make and model of your router should be on your router, if you don't have one, then obviously you do not need to worry about a hardware firewall.
That leaves the native windows firewall and/or any software firewall installed, I don't know anything about Macfee Security Center, maybe read the manual on it to see if it includes a firewall.

ok.

i tried this, but i'm not sure if it's even close or way off

Well I will move you over to the MP forum, the experts there can help you out.

are you using a router or not? if so and it has a DMZ, just set that, its the easiest way.

I think you better find a computer nerd buddy, that seems to be your only hope.
