First, i would like to say thanks to the developer behind the mod, i can express how grateful I'm to finally be able to play again.

Secondly, it seems the mod forces offices to sell goods on periodically, yet i couldn't catch a time between ticks, around 3 hours or so of in-game time.
send me the save, i will try to debug it when i have time. i can only do qa on my own save so there bound to be bugs.

Attached you can find the savegame which was used to to test. Thanks again for the mod, CO should have a moral obligation to share their staff salary with you;)

i have made a suggestion to the office system, please have a look and see if i missed anything
Good job you've done. I can't say I'm fond in the processes under the hood, therefore i can just can advise regarding the representation of the suggestion.
1. I would add a context before. That community experienced a major bug that offices can't sell intangible goods, and you managed to fix it singlehandedly. This adds weight to the suggestion.
2. Add is an explanation for a coefficient 0.2 for dealing with an outside source sellers/buyers. Like, offices are forced to pay surplus/discount based on urgency of the request.
3. The coefficient might be scalable with the percentage of lacking materials / overproduction to align it with market equilibrium theory.

From the postL: "We're working on a fix, but I don't have an ETA for when it will come your way. We may not be able to patch it until after the summer lock."

So we do not know for sure when it is coming - I am optimistic a hot fix will come before the summer break - even if it doesn't address the underlying problems, but at least makes the game playable like what @Adwozo has done to this point with the mod.

I tried your mod. It works as far as the offices are concerned, but my residential demand is still tanked, and not coming back. I should add that I'm grateful for the attempt. At least I don't have 76% unemployment now.

For the same reason that the influx does not decrease simply because there are no job openings in the base game, I think it is unavoidable that the inflow does not increase simply because there are job openings in the MOD.
This should be treated as a separate issue. Discuss in the mod thread would be appropriate.

Can't believe a delayed update can cause major issue on office employment and demand, which is one of the most important factor in cs2, where most of employment and income should be created from them, while they increased the difficulty for the game.

Please do something to your broken game, it's almost a year for this game been released, but still have tonnes of bug need to fix!!!!

This is called naivity, not optimism :)

Just amazing how they can release an update "fixing the economy" and then releasing it in an near unplayable state. Like don't they have anybody testing their stuff? And after all that they don't even know if they can fix it before the summer break. Its almost comical. Not even an official response on steam or discord today.

If this bug has been in the game for a while, which seems likely at this point, then fixing it may also require adjusting other things. The game launched with a bug that prevented industry from exporting and the economy was balanced around that, so when the bug was fixed and industry started making money again in the 1.0.15 patch, cities started making obscene amounts of money and it took until this Economy 2.0 patch to rein that in.

I hope when the office bug is fixed that the overall simulation balance is re-evaluated and adjusted so we aren't making excessive amounts of tax income again. Playing with essentially infinite money wasn't fun.

We believe we have a fix for the office worker count dropping. The homelessness/crime issue(s) is still being investigated, so I'm afraid I don't have an update on that.

Thank you for the feedback. Is there a certain point you feel is hard to get past or do you struggle to make a profit the whole time?

Here are some general tips to turn a city profitable, you could try:
  • Increase tax by a few percent, especially for industry/commercial
  • Only add the services you absolutely need
  • Reduce the service budget to fit the city's needs, especially electricity and water/sewage
  • Use small roads until traffic requires them to be upgraded
  • Use the most basic versions of services until you make a profit
  • Avoid building upgrades until your city's economy is stable
  • Build specialized industry, stone and livestock farming can be built anywhere on the map

At least we now know that a fix is coming :).
