Additional Ground Rules:

1. Each player selects their country during their first turn.
2. For the first two turns you can attack anyone but you can't annex or make a vassal of a human controlled country. After that you can annex anyone.
3. Each player has up to 2 days to complete as much of their turn as they can.
4. Save games should be zipped. At the end of a player's turn, that player will email the zipped save game all players. The next players turn then begins.
5. Absolutely no cheating.
6. No reloading (other than CTD forced.)
7. An existing player who loses their country can rejoin the game during the next turn (in their scheduled slot). They must select a country of roughly equal or lesser power to the other human countries in play at that time. At the start of their new turn, and before playing, they will announce in the MP forum what their intended choice is. Any disputes over the selection will be resolved prior to gameplay.
8. Expansion by taking excessive loans and having planned bankrupcies is considered cheating. Please see rule 5.
9. Loans to the AI, turbo annexing, and inciting native uprisings to destroy another nation's colonies/TP's you have MA with are also considered as illegal cheats/exploits.
10. No, breaking of enforced 5year truce...otherwise u can beat up, and beat up, and beat up on a country without the other player having a chance to react!
11. No attacks on any of your own countries can be made. Neither is it possible to intentionally destroy the relation to one of your own countries (insults, claiming the throne).

Here we go....

I chosed to start the game with Castile.

My first action was to declare war against Granada. While fighting Granada I allied Portugal which throwed me in a war against Algierz as well.

When Granadas both provinces had been occupied, Granada accepted a peace where they handed Castile Gibraltar and becamed Castiles vassal. Meanwhile Algierz had made some invasions on Castiles home turf. One in the north at Gilizia and one at Muria. They also had a mobile Cavalry army which roamed the Iberian countryside and pillaged wherever they could. After a year of fighting all Algerians had been removed from the Iberian peninsula. A whitepeace was made with Algierz to provide some time to prepare for the next war. Morocco would be the next victim!

A brief fight took place outside the capital of Morocco. Victerious Castilian forces sieged the capital and when it fell continued south into Sahara. Soon all of Morrocco was occupied by Castilian forces. Peace was made and all Moroccos territory except the capital was handed over to Castile.

At 1st January 1426 the score was the following....

1st: Castile 106 pts
8th: England 66 pts
24th: Austria 28 pts
111th: Ottoman 8 pts

In Jan 1426 the boy king Henry VI got a new advisor. Henry V and his previous advisor hadn't sone such a bad job of things. Orleans had been captured in the victorious war with France and its vassals. However it was now occupied by Hessen. What the English were doing at war with them was anyone's guess. A stability of 0 wasn't too great either.

To our royal masters delight Hessen and Stasburg offered a white peace on 4th Jan 1426. Henry VI then showed his unsuitability for rule by foolishly supporting his ally Burgundy when they declared war against Brittany. by forgetting that Brittany was a royal vassal England immediatly was shaken by instability (-3).

The war with Brittany was quickly won when fresh troops from England captured Armor, Bretagne and Moriban. In Aug 1427 the Bretons sued for piece yiedling all but their capital (and useful funds).

In the meantime Austria showed it had no need of human help by annexing Milan, although overstretch seemed possible as it entered simulataneous wars with the Swiss, Genoa, Savoy, Venice and Bosnia.

Meanwhile England was recovering from its chaos. All the royal treasury was spent reassuring the nobles that Henry wasn't mad. Then he went mad (random event) with the lowest leadership scores his citizens had ever seen.

Spring 1429 saw the Byzantines suing for peace and the Ottomans taking Morea. Christandom is really not worried yet.

August 1429 saw the end of the truce between England, the Scots and France. Henry, now a warlike young man could not resist the opportunity and in October Bedford and Talbot struck at Paris while Beauchamp marched on Lothian. The French has pissed off most of their vassals so only Provence joined the was, while Burgundy and Aragon marched loyally with England.

The war started disastrously. The English armies is Paris and Lothian were driven back with heavy losses (sepite numerical and cavalry superiority). Another random event generated incresed revotl risk and a rebellian in Bristol. Henry needed to see the money lenders. One good pice of news was the Burgundian inheritance of Brabant

The next phase of the war went much better. The Burgundians wore down the French while the English rearmed. The Scottish army was crushed in Lothian and the pursuit force followed them into the Grampians. Paris was successfully besieged and the French relief force driven back with heavy losses.

By 1432 all of Scotland was in English hands and France had lost Nivernois to Burgundy and Champagne/Picardy to England. Frnace offered England a large bribe plus Champage/Picardy. Scotalnd was left with just its capital.

So Jan 1433 sees the Hundred Years War drawing to a close with England asserting its rightful claim over the Plantagenet lands of France. However England is now feared and envied across the continent and can only rely on Burgundy/Arogon/Navarre and Portugal to be friends.

One disaster - the Austrian's did overstretch themseleves and were forced to cede Milan and Tyrol to Venice. Austria burns while its enemies take revenge. Time for an advisor!

England -1st with 239 points
Castile 5th with 123 points
Ottomans 22nd with 55 points
Austria 134th with -10 points

In 1433 the Ottomans has just recently captured Morea and Hellas but have otherwise kept a low profile.

Truce exist with the Byzantians until 2 August 1434 so no DOW can be made on them until then.

Ottomans start with three armies. The main Army consisting of some 23000 men are guarding the Turkish Asian holdings at Smyrna. The other big army of some 12000 men are onboard ships outside Sienas coast just ready to invade. One small division of 4000 cavalries are held at Rumelia.

Ottomans are at war with Tuscany and Siena. Some 11000 Tuscanians has just started a siege on Macedonia.

The army outside the Italian coast are ordered to immediatly withdraw to Morea. The ships has very low supplies and need to go to port immediatly. Some 20% of the ships sinks on the journey homewards.

In mid January the cavalry division attack the besieging force at Macedonia but are badly beaten with no one surving the battle. Only inflicting about 1000 casaulties.

In mid may 1433 the besieging force at Macedonia is once again attacked by Turksih troops. 10100 Turkish troops attacks the 9400 beigeing force of Tuscanians. There is a massive cavalry superiority for the Turks which on the open plains of Macedonia lets no Tuscany forces alive. Only some 700 turkish men had to die the honourable death.

The Ottomans has no wishes to fight any Italians... yet. And Tuscany as the leader of their alliance accept a white peace.

The Ottomans starts preparing for a series of conquests which start in feb of 1434 when the Ottomans declare war on Candar. As Candar has no forces a siege is begun immediatly and in March of 1435 the Turks finally breaks into the city. Candar is Annexed.

In June 1435 the Ottomans declare war on Byzantium. Georgia joins the war against the Ottomans. Ottomans immediatly invades Thrace and battle takes place. 33000 Turks against 10000 Romans. The battle is won quickly for the Turks and Byzantium withdraws to Rumelia with the remaining 2300 men. The losses for the Ottomans stays at 5000.

In December Byzantium falls to the Turks and is Annexed. The Ottomans decides to move the Capital to Constaninopel and erects a new center of trade in the capital. The Patriarch is allowed to stay and work in Constantinople.

In February 1437 the Ottomans declare war on Karamans. Teke joins the Karamans.

Three small armies invades Karaman and Konya falls quickly into the Ottomans hands. Forces there are turned towards Teke. Earlier Karamans have expanded northwards and taken Sivas and Trabzond. Sivas and Adan is besiged while Trapzond is already controlled by Georgia.

After destroying Tekes army in a series of battle siege is laid upon their capital. In April 1439 the capital falls and the Ottomans annex Teke. Sivas meanwhile has already falled and Adan soon after. Now only their capital is controlled by Karaman. The siege on their capital is not succesful before 1st January of 1440. Several attempts to make peace with the Karamans fails and the advisor is beheaded at 1st of January 1440.

----

Meanwhile Burgundy has drawned England and Aragon into several wars during the 7-year period. They have been fighting almost all of France, Germany and the Lowlands. England has managed this period reasonable well and only lost some wars but without being forced to cede any territory. Now several revolts has struck England. Primary in France but also some in Scotland.

Castile has during the 7-year period succesfully invaded and annexed Granada. They have also vassalized Fez by force and Portugal by choice. Now revolts due to the low stab and a civil war has broken out in central and northern Spain.

Austria has during this period done.... nothing. Well Croatia did try to invade Austria together with Hungary, Luxembourgh and Siebenbürgh but Bavaria and Baden was there for Austria. The main fighting took place on Hungarys border provinces to Austria. After several years of fighting Austria decided to pay Hungary for peace. They also managed to get two Emperors to the HRE selected during this period.

The score...

England 1st with 244 points
Castile 3rd with 190 points
Ottomans 9th with 118 points
Austria 14th with 97 points (100 points from 2 elected emperors)

Austria resurgent

After 21 years of misrule a new advisor arrived to serve the Hapsburg emperors.

The first priority was to end the useless war with Croatia and Cologne. This was achieved in Jan 1440 at a cost of 3 ducats.

However rather than let the Austrian's enjoy peace the emperor could not resist the opprtunity presented by the follish overstrecth of the hated enemy - Venice.

The Austrians declared war in April 1440, supported by their loyal allies Bavaria and Baden. Soon the a great victory was won on the battlefield Venice was besieged and the Venetian allies Siena and Tuscany offered a white peace

From this point on the war was simple. Austrian and Bavarian forces besieged all the Ventian provinces. A few battles were lost but by 1444 the last fortress fell in Dalmatia.

Venice resisted Austria's punitive peace terms for another year while the Venetian navy rotted in the Adriatic. Eventually they accpeted the inevitable and ceded Tirol (to Bavaria), Milan, Mantua and Istria.

Apart from this the Austrians married off large numbers of the royal family to the German princes and tried (unsuccessfully) to increase trade.

Elsewhere England at last found peace and dealt with rebels in Champagne, Bretagne and Armor. New rebellians have started in Picardy.

The Ottomans have marched on taking most of Karaman, annexing Serbia and Cyprus and fighting the Hungarians to a draw.

Castille has done nothing - although Aragon has inherited Naples
