I have a big problem. When I run installation program, I see message "error number 0x80070725" and "incompatible version of RPC access (entrance?- sorry but I dont speak english ) procedure" Any Suggestions?
if you prefer to receive support in your native language, just check the "support options" thread where I've listed the link to the tech support page of the Polish publisher.
If english is not a problem (it doesn't seem to be ) see the running problems thread and then post me your config info. It is possible that a first failure of the installation will prevent you to install it later, so check the uninstall link in the above thread for instructions on how to correctly remove all the remnants of the installation.
I've got the same message (including the exact same error number) come up with the English version of EU2 I bought today; it tells me I've got an 'Incompatible version of the RPC stub'. I'm running Windows 98 and DirectX 8.0 - happy to provide more information if someone can tell me where to look - I don't know much about computers! Grateful for any help; thanks!
The problem is in the oleaut32.dll file. You have the wrong version (probably re-writed by other program). If you replace this file by the orginal version from windows cd, EU instalation program will be run.
Thank you for the advice. I have found the file and the version I have was modified in December 2001 so that's probably it. However, my PC came with windows already installed so I don't have a CD. I'll try and download an older version (I assume from the Microsoft site). My version is v3.50.5014.0; any idea which version I should be looking for?
