Oops - binned the shortcuts...

Anyone know how to restore the game to the programs list on the start menu having accidentally deleted the shortcut?

We're on Windows 98.
Somehow an EU shortcut appeared on the desktop - it seemed to be a useless extra so we deleted it and emptied the recycle bin. It went - and took with it the start menu shortcut which now shows as "empty". So it wasn't an extra - it must have somehow got dragged onto the desktop (5-year old son denies any involvement....)

I can still play by clicking on the CD icon or going in through Explorer but that useful option "Europa Universalis - no music" has vanished. I don't want to uninstall and reinstall because I've got the save games, the patches and everything else in that folder. Or would they be OK?

I hope the terms are correct, my computer settings are Dutch

Goto settings and choose menu start.
Choose programs in menu start and click advanced
doubleclick programs, doubleclick Paradox entertainment, doubleclick europa universalis
in the rightpart of the explorer-screen, now you can place shortcuts.

For that open an new window of explorer and go to the Europa universalis folder
Drag the europa.exe icon from the Europa Universalisfolder to the rightpart of the explorerscreen of the startmenu. Et voila, a new shortcut for EU.
If you want the nomusic-option, rightclick on the shortcut, choose properties and add a space and nomusic after the pathname.

Make a New Folder. Name it EU Backups or something.
Now copy your save games, patches etc into this folder.
You may now uninstall EU and reinstall without losing anything in the Backup folder.
Once everything is done then copy the Save Games back into the EU Folder and run the patch you were using when you made the saved games.
That way you get your No Music option back into the Start/Program and dont have to mess with a command line.
