Btw, has the paratrooper bug been fixed?
I think it was fixed in 1,3.

I've had similiar trouble trying to get RC4 to work but I have now unpacked it and got the correct checksum of 1.04 XLNS but you need to unpack/overwrite RC4 with winACE (to get the files to correctly overwrite) as .jZip does not unpack the files correctly and gives amongst other things 'unwanted string' results. If you don't want to pay directly or indirectly to download the winace software then I'd wait for the offical 1.4 patch that will have it's own proper installer on GG. Hope that helps.
I just tried playing RC4 and all my corps have "unknown string wanted" under the corps name. Specifically, Germany in the 1936 campaign. I edited the scenario file a bit, deleting old subs and destroyers that I didn't want; reorganizing some air units to save having to do it in game every time I start over.
I thought this might be the cause of the problem, so I went over the scenario file carefully, to make sure that I didn't screw up any parameters. All the curly braces are in order.
I tried loading as Italy and they have the same problem.
I did a search and most of the hits I got dealt with other Paradox games, and were mostly related to piracy. If you'll note the AoD registration shield to the left of this post, hopefully we can save any insinuations of that nature.
Any ideas what could be causing the problem? I doubt it's my fiddling, but if I have to go back to the original file I will. Such editing caused me no problems when I did it with the original HoI2 years ago.
Shouldn't happen with RC4 or the final version of 1.04.HI I'm playing a german game and I just noticed that all provinces outside of my capital have ambysmal supply effectiveness, the higest outside the capital is 25%.
I checked and when loading up othere nations this problem dose not exists.
I upgraded the Inf of berlin to 200%, but I also did so to a lot of othere provinces.
The checksum should be KXOS, try reinstalling the latest patch.1.04 PPWT i think
