Played GC36 as USA.

I reloaded game in 42' as ITA, GER and JAP.
All three of them still have possibility to move sliders (army for GER JAP and hawk intervention and army for ITA)

Why these moves were not done?

In my 5 years of playing HOI2, what you described has always been the case. I believe that the AI makes slider moves only by event.

I see a lot of posts referring to a huge IC and it is a user error. Here's the explanation. I got this the first time I tried 1.05. That's because 1.05 changes the required file structure in several files, most notably misc.txt. So in order to try 1.05 I recommend copying the entire 1.04 install directory and then applying the patch IN TOTAL, NOT JUST THE EXE FILE. (You can ignore minister files, etc if you wish, but be sure to include all csv files, events files, and ai files) Then over the top of that you will need to JUDICIOUSLY reinstall any mods you might have, examining each file you have for conflicts. That way you can try 1.05 and still be able to go back to 1.04 if you have problems. If you do it this way you will avoid many issues.

I have DL 1.02 then did a clean install with 1.03 and 1.04 and then patch new beta with hotfix 2.
I still have huge ic problem.
I always have it very quickly in israel scenario.

Ok, got a new problem for you devs...

For a while I was wondering why Germany had around 140 divs when invading the USSR. Then I found out that Germany was building infra; Not only in every German prov, but in France as well. Over 50% of German production IC is invested in infra building in 1943! Though I only noticed this problem a week after starting with 1.05, so could have something to do with my modifications...

Since I haven't located the lines which control AI infra building, my only solution has been to reduce infra costs to 0.5 IC and increase the buildtime to 400% (920 days).

Has anyone else experienced this issue?

So the events should be modified !

1.05 is supposed to improve AI.
Slider move, IMO, is a part of it.

Well -- maybe yes -- maybe no. I personally would hope that the AI moves it's slider historically. If you want it to move as a human would move it, then maybe something like the DAIM mod of HOI2 would do that. Maybe it doesn't though. But I personallly would prefer historical.

I confess though that I misunderstood your post to suggest that 1.05 had in some way changed something important in the game when in fact it had not -- I believe.

+1, Historical accuracy all the way!

Do you really know each "historical" slider and timing move for each country???
:wacko::wacko::wacko:

When I read history books, I have never heard about slider moves.

Historical way has its limit.
And if you want full historical, dont play HOI AoD, because you already know the end of the story.

It doesn't work like that for the AI. The AI gets specific invisible AI events which move its sliders, when reloading as an AI country, you always have a slider move. The bottom line is that the AI moves its sliders, but doesn't use the mechanics the player does.

AI slider moves are handled by AI events

Three things

1. I like the idea to have the AI build infrastructure. However, USSR builds infra in many nonsense places (East Asian provs with 0 resources or IC). Where are the provinces defined that infra should be built in by the AI?
2. There is a typo in the ai switches file that causes trouble after SPA victory in CW - SPA_endcivilwar.ai
3. Assault guns should be allowed as attachment for infantry. That is what they are---infantry support weapons!

P.S. USSR has way too little metal resources in its provinces! USSR had approx. 2/3 of all world wide metal resources I believe. Really needs to be adjusted. Take for example Murmansk and Kola, both have 0 resources but in fact the region is very rich of reources (metal/rares)

Was resource extraction taking place in that time period, and also, during war?

Surely not as it was in later years (that is well simulated since most USSR provs have only 60% infra which could be increased by the player) but: YES. That is also one of the reasons the Germans wanted to take Murmansk/Kola but they never made it (nature stopped their advance). Anyway, I have seen AI USSR collapse because of lack of metal and that must be a joke!

Latest hotfix version available.

Windows 7 64-bit professional.

1680 x 1050 widescreen (NON-windowed) 32-bit color resolution.

It forces me to reload because my forces will never attack... since the year is like ten thousand years in the future.

I have encountered the same issue. Windows XP Home

Any idea when we can expect the next hotfix, devs? I've given up on testing since I can't even play.

Today - i released it yesterday internally
