A suggestion, add new conditions to the MIO system, that generic MIOs should be blocked, when the country has a MIO that already contains the same traits. Like the old designer system did.

Will there be more content to this patch?
Our intention is to add a little bit more to the beta (probably update it next week) and react to further player feedback from the OB.
In theory we should get an update to the beta this week, although I'm more interested in the "react to further player feedback" part.

Hmm, given that Friday is a holiday in many countries (including Sweden), tomorrow would the last day (excluding Saturday) if the plan is kept. Since software releases directly before the weekend are rather avoided (and here we are looking at an extra-long weekend with Monday being holiday again), I could imagine later today...as next week would leave little time for testing the next batch of changes:
Our aim is for this to leave open beta before the end of the month.

After having played GoE for a while, I think that the biggest improvement would be adding seperate peace treaties for UK / Frenchy colonies in the Middle East. When you play as Iraq/Iran/Afghanistan, conquering Syria, Lebanon, Egypt, Kuwait etc etc is easy however capitulating UK mainland / French mainland in order to annex them makes no sense. There should either be an seperate event for white peace and conquering them after occupying the lands for a certain amount of time, or the major powers wont join wars when you declare war on colonies, or a focus that makes it able to start border wars with colonies. Thanks for reading if you read this reply.

I don't know whether dev members read here or not, I'm so curious to know will we finally see new portrait faces for Iran in upcoming patch? this one is really urgent! having only 1 face for all promoted officers doesn't make sense!

I wouldn't count on more new portraits for this purpose, as this issue has been dealt with by making the old, pre-DLC Arabian generic pics available again for Iran for division commanders and new promoted admirals. See the changelog and my post in the new stickied "OPEN BETA | Patch 1.16.5 (Update 1)" thread:

why Arabian pics?!!! that's totally wrong! Iran is not Arab !!!
currently only 1-2 states out of 31 states of Iran are Arab! the majority of Iran (by population) are Persian- Azeri Turks - Kurds - Lurs - Arab.
if we say it by percentage less that 5 percent of Iran is Arab!

I don't know why there is a wrong thought among some European and American people that Iranians are Arab!
pay attention guys, in middle east, Turkey, Iran and Israel are non-Arab countries!!! I hope what you say wouldn't be performed and not to see Arab pics for Iranian officers again! at least using the same pics as Turkey's will be more appropriate!

The Template saver is great.
I wish it would remember the icon selected. Its a minor gripe, but I really like to organize navies using the icons to make sure I get the right ships in the right place

This was a calculated omission; we will be observing how folks use the template system but ship icons have gameplay connotations that we anticipate that users will not necessarily want to transfer across games.

Generals!

For the next several days you’ll be able to test some things and give us all your feedback.

Please report issues in Bug Reports!

You can play around, test and give feedback on anything you like, but our focus will be on these points:
  • Equipment Designer - We’ve added functionality to save your designs across game sessions. Save a tank/ship/plane design in one playthrough, and load it up in another.
  • Also added is the ability to share designs with friends using the import/export feature.
View attachment 1278465View attachment 1278466

  • Saadabad Pact Branch - Iraq, Afghanistan, Iran and Turkey are getting a shared branch that allows them to cooperate more with one another.
  • Iran is getting some extra characters and focuses, including scientists and generals.
  • Afghanistan is also getting some extra characters in the form of a communist country leader and some new advisors.
  • Iraq’s Kurdistan branch is being expanded upon

We’re working hard on polishing Graveyard of Empires content on multiple fronts with the addition of new focuses, characters and events. We’ll continue to work on fixes, content and balancing as the beta progresses, and we may want to update the beta content during this time to make sure you have the opportunity to give us specific feedback relevant to the state of the game at that time.

The equipment designer persistence feature is something we might want to extend in the future towards other parts of the game as well, so please give us feedback on that! (The import/export feature is available in the equipment designer that comes with MTG, NSB or BBA)

- @PDX_Gorion and @AveeBee

Iran should have more commanders and admirals if it wants to build an empire, historical commanders that were not added: Mohammad Shahbakhti_Yadollah Bayander_Ismail Amirfazli_Azizollah Zarghami_Amanollah Jahanbani
And that at that time it was the Iranian Intelligence Organization (Shahrbani) not SAVAK

Thank you for including this awesome new feature @Arheo . This is a huge quality of life improvement and I look forward to other places this could be implemented (division designer plz).

@pdxen pointed me over to this note. I believe that there is a bug which causes this new feature to interact with the icons in the designers in an unfortunate way. I've only tested with Navy but using a template will always cause the icon to be set to a specific value which can be unfortunate in the case of Navy.

Example:
Start a game as Italy 1936. Use cheat xp 500.
Click Production... Build Ships...
Click the empty "1936 Submarine Hull" on the bottom.
NOTE: It has the skull and crossbones icon.
Add torpedo tubes. Click "Save to file". Pick whatever folder and confirm.
Now click the design you just saved. It will change the sub's icon to the green turret.

If the design was indeed as you say that the icons are omitted from the saved designs because of gameplay reasons, then importing the saved design should not change the icon.

very nice, I think we can consider "Amanollah Jahanbani" as Field Marshal due to his rank and position in his period of time.

also we can add "Nader Batmanghilch", "Abdolhossein Hejazi", "Mohammad Taghi Riyahi" "Fereydoon Jam", "Mohammad Amir Khatami" and Field Marshal Gholamreza Az'hari
I'd also like to see the brilliant general "Nader Jahanbani" (which was later Pahlavi general of course)

but about intelligence I can't agree with you on this one, since the SAVAK is the correct historical name and "Shahrbani" is used for different purpose organization, it was early police organization and had no intelligence duty, its job was just maintainig order and security.

Yes, there are many Iranian generals who had high ranks and could become field marshals, but unfortunately I have forgotten their names. The problem is that SAVAK did not exist during Reza Shah's reign, and one could choose the (SHAHRBANI) under the leadership of Rokn al-Din Mokhtari as an espionage organization, like the (NKVD). This organization was only related to Soviet internal affairs.

I can provide their name, but the point is whether Paradox wants to add more or not!
they are tens of high ranked generals not listed in game, actually there were 3 "Arteshbod" which is highest rank after king and is equal to Field Marshal, one of them is "Bahram Ariyana" which is existed in game but as general! it should be field marshal (because he was). "Amanollah Jahanbani" and "Gholamreze Az'hari" can be added as Field Marshal too.

anyway currently I'm very curious to see which type of portrait faces they are going to use for Iran, seems they have used the old Arab ones! if they do so then this will be the biggest mistake since Iran is not an Arab country! and I also hope they don't use those red hat pics because they are Syrian and not related to Iranians neither! we need normal faces for Iranian officers!

yeah I got your point of view, that's right, but you know the Savak was more specialized and famous and I think we can choose some best aspects of these father and son leaders' (Reza shah and Mohammadreza Shah) parts.

Yes, commanders like Morteza Yazdanpanah, Farajollah Aq-Avli (Field Marshal), Habibollah Sheibani, and Ali Riazi. These were not added either, I can find all the portraits from the same period, if you want a paradox! Unfortunately, they did not care about Iran at all about Mohammad Reza Pahlavi because when Iran was occupied, Reza Shah's son did not come and Iran was completely divided unhistorically (the occupation of northern Iran by the Soviet Union).

yeah exactly! indeed Mohammadreza Shah was a genius person and brilliant king I think he was even hundred times better than his father, he truly knew the meaning of management and technology, leaded the country from a war-torn country into a wealthy and advancing country which was lending money to the world even to great powers!
created the strongest army in middle east. a real charismatic and gentleman king. I agree with you absolutely there is much more to add in Mohammadreza branch!
