Paradox instead works more loosely, tells us that they are going to do a great game, but saves the specifics until they have them down pat, which means you can trust them to deliver.

Well, that's what they try to do. EU2 was supposed to have spies according to Paradox at one point, wasn't it? :)

About the polish armed forces. They were fairly modern right? They just got caught off guard by the german if I remember right.

They were not modern but also they were not so obsolete as some western historians describe it.

Nikolai II :
;)
Names of these ships were:
destroyers:
"B³yskawica" - Lightning
"Grom" - Thunder
"Burza" - Storm
"Wicher" - Hurricane
subs:
"Orze³" - Eagle
"Sêp" - Vulture
"Wilk" - Wolf
"Ryœ" - Wildcat
"¯bik" - ?

And movie about "Orze³" escape was made in Poland in 60's ;)

Lynx, maybe?

Could be 'Bull', as that's what 'bik' means in Croatian, which as I'm sure you know is related to Polish.

Nonono, its small feline predator, IIRC. Felis Silvestris. Mountain Forests of Europe, Caucasus and Asia Minor. Lenght 45-90 cm, tail 25-40 cm, weights 4-18kg. Looks almost like domesticated cat, only it's bigger.

Zbik in my book is translated into 'wildcat', so Lynx should be ok :)

Tsk, tsk. We're discussing warships names, of course, historical accuracy, you know:D

Hmm. Nice kitty, btw. Quite big, imagine having one as domesticated housecat?

Well lynx is 'ris', which would be the Polish 'ryce' I suppose. Your picture definetely looks like a wildcat, which is much smaller than a lynx.

Never knew warship names could be so tricky to pin down
:D.

Well rom what I know the fleets in the game could either be put under your controle when you capture their coutrny adn force them to annex, which means their either yours, or they sink/ scutal thier ships, beacuse when Germany ran over France, and Germany forced France to get in peace talks, and Vichy France was forced or which ever the English PM and his war office staff thought that Germany would get a good potion of French Battlships and other ships, which were in the Indian occean area I belive and the UK sent thier fleet donw thier to sink the French ships so taht the Germans couldnt get those ships as part of the deal.

Quite amusing really wonder if thats in the game at all would be lieka random factor on what happens to the Fleets!!

But thats only my gues!

Also I didnt think Poland had an Airforce in them days only Army maybe jsuta small navy of a few ships but thast all, but then again its HoI any thing can come posible in that lol..

actually The French Navy (or parts of it) escaped to North Africa to escape the Germans. The initial plan was for Darlan to bacome the leader of the Free French and to take over the fight in North Africa. However i believe that Petain appointed him to a senior post in the French Government and according to Winston Churchills book he had once said how his Great Grandfather had been killed at Trafalquar. He was very anti-british and decided that vichy was the best option. Degaulle went on to become the french hero of the time.

for those that were asking about the polish air force and details...read the thread involving poland named as follows

The hereo's of poland will be here?

i posted the information of the polish air force among other details from several sites..including one very excellent site devoted stricly to the polish air force
