It's been a long-standing project by some to determine how to price 'Mechs and their components so we could accurately value mods. The problem with the individual 'Mech files is that they rounded all prices to the nearest 100k C-bills, making precise valuation impossible.
I stumbled upon different lance compositions in the "lance" subfolder, and they were valued down to the lowest 1000 C-bills (actually, some with vees went down to single C-bills but we don't care about vees). There were enough of them that I was able to solve a matrix for each chassis, and there should've been zero estimation: all prices should've been definitive.
Unfortunately, the prices were definitively wrong. Either the lance prices included other variables like pilot costs, or they weren't updated to account for the price changes between beta 1.0 and 2.0. So unfortunately, prices still remain somewhat uncertain. Be aware though, that the lances you see in the files won't be the same lances in the final game since their valuation is incorrect (often about 10% too low).
