Playing as King of Ireland, I noticed that my wife, the Queen of Scotland, was under attack by a power vassal. I asked to join her war. Shortly after, she called me to arms, which automatically seemed to disappear as I was already at war.
I later noticed I had taken a -30 hit for failing to answer a call to arms, which was only partly balanced by a +25 for joining her war. The point is moot for my game, as the King died crossing the North Channel, but there seems to be an unfair penalty for eagerness.
