Can somebody tell me why the OE declines in the later parts of MP games, about the same time as Russia is accepted into play and made a powerhouse. They both have orthodox tech group, unless the OE choose the historical outcome in the decline events.

OE have a lot of negative events from the 1500s - on.

the Conflicts with Persia and Mameluk Uprisings, for example.

Russia (from 1600 on) are on their way to becoming a global power

The turks, on the other hand, are on their way *OUT* of being a Global Power, unless the player knows what he's doing.

Bad events, bad monarchs, bad leaders.

Well I recently had great success dealing with the super bad 1615 event. -6 stab, +8 revolt risk for 4 years. I had on average six revolts per month, the first 18 months. Not unmanageable at all, I paused the game at the beginning of each month, sent an army to deal with it, then paused again at the beginning of next month. I had 15k armies strewn about my Empire every three provinces, so it was very manageable.

Hmmm, so basically it's mostly becasue of major revolts, lacking in tech developing, and others growing stronger in the meantime then. Thanks, I can stop wondering then and try to make up for it if I ever play the OE.

Hah, can't beat my Shiite MGC4 Ottoman Empire first decentralization event (the same year). I got it just after civil war :D. At least i didn't have any war going on, although i bet Austria was eager to dow me:D

Many post-Suleiman OE monarchs seriously sucks, true. Although there are few decent ones.
