I am working on an overhaul mod for CK2 which replaces all of the old religions, but when I remove all of the old religions and put my new ones in instead the game crashes after selecting a character and clicking play. I only got it to work again when I put my new religions alongside the old religions. Is there any way I can remove the old religions without the game crashing?
 
Are these old religions still referenced in your mod? Province and character history, as well as events, decisions and other common files may all have to be adjusted.
