No medium or high demand.
Installed this mod.
Load saved game.
Activated the gizmo.
Red bars everywhere.
Deleted all the red bars buildings one by one.
Unpaused.
Medium demand started to appear and going up.
Saved.
Load saved game.
Red bars again. Allot less then before but still some.

Is this normal? Red bars appearing after you clear them? For what I know, there are empty houses.
Probably another game bug?

Edit: more time passed, have high demand again
Edit 2: red bars everywhere again
Edit 3: checked the Overpopulated.log, all the new bars are reporting 1 more then the max. The size of the bar is not related to the amount above the max (maybe related to the size of the building?)

The bars are proportional to the overpopulation, but they are boosted for smaller numbers like 1 or 2 so you an easily see the buildings. Otherwise it can be very difficult to spot a building with 1 more family in a dense urban area.
This is just a tool to visualise a problem, it doesn't solve the actual root of problem. If your game somehow still makes those overpopulated buildings, then the problem still exists and you need to track it. Idk what causes this behavior atm. Could be a mod, could be a weird vanilla bug, could be both clashing together.
My advise is also to not destroy all buildings at once. Just do it gradually, let the game run for few minutes, save it, rinse and repeat. Give it some time to rebuilding the buildings and relocate already evicted people.

Hi, I'm having issues with this mod , it make all my buildings become 0 people living in and all commercial and office building empty and make them abandoned, but they acturally still living in that building and business still working.

This mod makes my population drop from 54K to 46K on reload, no matter whether the settings for the mod are ticked or not.

It affects all my saves for my city, including auto saves.

Like others on here all my newly zoned residential have zero occupancy and all my commercial buildings are condemned.

I have tried my save with no mods and unfortunately it makes no difference. I have over 200 hours on this city and I fear my save may be broken.

Any help from the Dev would be appreciated.

@Ger Leahy The vanilla game is actually bugged and infects your saves. Your post confirms that you have an already corrupted save. The longer you will play, the more problems there will be. This mod allows you to actually FIX your save and keep it healthy. However, since the save is ALREADY corrupted, then during "healing" it may look like you have even more issues.
If you want to see for yourself what the problem is then CHECK THE LOG. It will tell you all corrupted buildings.

---
So, if you DO NOT understand what this mod does and how it works, then PLEASE DO NOT USE THE MOD.
If you want to use it, then please READ THE DESCRIPTION and check the logs.

The instant population drop and zero new residents began when I enabled the mod. I had no problems with my save before using this mod.

The massive population drop does not occur on my saves when this mod is uninstalled.

I tried it because i always lose 500-1000 people on start of my save file. My population instantly goes from 618 000 to 533 000 people. Fortunatly, i've done a save before. I try to use mods to fix my city because it stopped growing at 630k and after HOURS of afk, it decrease slowly, to 618k.
Always do a save guys

It means you have 90000 cims that should not be there, it is an "inflated" city, not the real one.

I have allot of homeless citizens that seem to be stuck. Posted here:
https://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/threads/huge-homeless-population-no-idea-why.1675851/

I was wondering if you could perhaps look into it and see what you can do about it. It seems another CS2 bug to me.
Thanks.

The problem I detected and fixed in this mod is the fact that the game allows for more families to be allocated to a buildinng. Like capacity is 20 but in fact there are e.g. 25 renters. During gameplay this fact is hidden, because these families are NOT registered as tenants. BUT they have their property set to this building. When the game loads, it recreates the tenants. This is why you temporarily see "overpopulation". They are then quickly evicted. But the problem exists - they are still attached to this building. The game actually creates HIDDEN HOMELESSNESS. Once the building is demolished for any reason, this homelessess becomes visible. Also, there are other cleanup processes in the game that may "uncover" it. Hence the big number of homeless at some point. The problem grows bigger in bigger cities.

This mod fixes the issue with overpopulation, it removes the ROOT cause. But your cims are not magically gone. Once they are "uncovered" then the game normally has to do something with them. Find a home, leave the city, etc. It takes time but eventually the city will heal itself and all homeless will be gone.

Also, another problem is that if you have too many of those "hidden overpopulated" buildings, the FindProperty process breaks because it repeats the search infinitely. You may check in DevTools that it start to take 30% of all pathfinding. In a city with this mod, it takes 5-10% tops. And this is a healthy number.

Thanks for the reply.
I have this mod active from the start and never noticed any red bar. I used the gizmo again and still all green, no red bars.

The DevTool (Tab) -> Watches -> HouseholdFindPropertySystem is blank. Nothing appear in the graph with all the options checked.
The DevTool (Tab) -> Pathfind -> HouseholdFindPropertySystem Top #1 Query is HouseholdFindPropertySystem (attach).
(not sure if you were referring to these ones)

I can send you the save game if you wish to check it out.
Thanks.

Give it time. Homeless must be near zero. As long as you have lots of homeless, then HouseholdFindPropertySystem will be busy looking for properties for them.

By now I gave it allot of time to recover. It didn't.
Removed all the zones and it goes down but to more or less half of what it was and stays there.

Can you please add a option/button to simply remove all homeless citizens?
