My (old) computer crashed and died a miserable death some time ago. With it went all the Paradox titles I had purchased through Paradox - Sengoku, Vicky 2, EU IV and, my favorite and the reason why Im here, CKII.

The ones through steam were able to recover to my new computer, and I've been happily playing HOI4 & Stellaris.

But the other ones - they all still show in my 'owned' file here on Paradoz, but...is it possible to get them back? Or at least CKII? I am very very excited about the randomizer that's out/coming out, and I can hardly contain myself.

You can always get them back from where you got them originally. The only non-Steam version of CK2 was from GamersGate.

Ah! Yes, it is, I'd forgotten, thank you. Sadly, though the Vicky 2 & EU IV re-installs worked, CK didn't.

There's a message about the game code:

"Unfortunately, we are out of serial keys. The developers have been contacted and we will supply keys as soon as they are delivered to us. We apologize for the inconvenience. [1]"

Any thoughts? I'm happy to share with you my paradox account (if for some reason you can't see it) and/or my gg or steam accounts.

If you bought the GG version of CK2 from them, they can (or should) still give you access to it. That does not require keys of any sort.

That stopped being updated at 2.0.2 though.

The key they are referring to is presumably the Steam keys we supplied them at that time to allow their customers to move to the Steam version. However since a change of their ownership we have been in dispute about this, a little more detail is here:

Even with that they have usually been at least supplying a key for the CK2 base game, if not the DLCs. They wouldn't even give you that?

They did eventually, I haven't yet tried my DLC, just getting the hang of it again.

Thanks for your help.

For what it's worth, I much preferred GG to steam. I find the steam software pretty invasive, and playing with steam 'off' results in a 50-75% reduction in speed, so there's no way to be happy about it.
