That seems to be in cync with the time line Johan referred to in the "buy direct" discussion.

Still I will wait for the "gone gold" announcement before I am sold on any firm dates.

It's going to be a medieval gaming year. Lords of the Realm III, CK and Knights of Honour all within a couple of months. :)
CK I've already ordered... I'm going to be ruined.

2 out of 3 isnt bad beowulf, LOTR3 has cluster fuck written all over it.

Have you been to those forums?

I fear you may be right. That whole period we had next to no news on CK I would console myself by going over to those forums and reminding myself how much worse it could be.

I liked LotR2 quite a lot, I've just based my hopes on LotR3 on the screenies on the site... haven't checked the forums. That bad, eh? :(
Well well, it's not like I actually need 3 medieval games.

I liked LOTR2 as well (still have the CD). I havent checked in a few months but similar to CK last year there was a real drought of info and some nastiness from some of the developers.

That might have changed so my inital "cluster fuck" comment may not still apply, but I saw enough at the time to get turned off.

now knights of honor dosent look to shabby at all and generally I get a good feeling from the forums. Its a small developer on that project as well (like paradox) I always find customer involvement is higher with the smaller outfits.

'Fraid not. The one solid communication from the Powers for a year or more was a single-word announcement a few weeks ago, 'Gold.' Then it was let slip elsewhere it will be released at a bargain bin $19.99, no further information was given and there has been a total lack of information to give anyone reason to believe they have any confidence in the game. They're not even talking to magazines. I'm not touching it until I see some impartial reviews.

The screenies sure look nice, I only found out about the game yesterday. I'm a bit wary about the fact that it's the same developer that made 'Anno 1503' (if I'm not completely misinformed)... a game I didn't care for much.

It would be nice to know what sort of thing could have happened.

your not misinformed, its the same people. Game looks good but CK, for me, is a preorder at gold committment because its made by Paradox and I know that a year from the day I get the game, they will still be improving it.

I will probably get Knights of Honor, but I wont until I read some reviews. Like snuggs I will stay away from LOTR3 until I see some reviews, or see some posts in OT land from other paradox memebers who have the game.

Cor, Knights of Honour certainly has visual appeal. In fact the site crashed IE :) I'm not much enthused about its historical depth, mind - I notice England below the Trent is split between 'London', 'Kent' and 'Cornwall' with 'Kent' and 'London' extending to Wales...

Better than MTW I suppose. :)

I dunno. MTW had Wessex, Mercia, Northumbria which is acceptable for a game of that scale since it's a fairly valid division (south / midlands / north). The naming, while not perfect, can be justified and it's hard to think of a snappy alternative. More than can be said for a Cornwall that extends to Reading, a Kent that includes Shropshire and a 'London' that seems to include everything between Suffolk and the Humber but not London as you can make out in one of the KoH screenies.

Knights of Honour looks great... it's going to be a medieval spring indeed :)

arrggh, I can't wait. I have just preordered (directly from Paradox), but there is still a month (at least) until I will recieve it...

BTW where can I read about Knigths of Honour?
