I was just playing as the Papal States for the first time.
I followed some advice that was up on here, and declared war on Urbino immediately. That worked, and I built up to declare war on Naples, who only had two allies, Ferrara and Modena. I conquered Ferrara and Modena first, and then went down into Roma, which Naples had taken while I took out her allies. I took it back, and pushed into Naples. Then I look, and it says that Naples allies, Tuscany and Milan, have declared war on me as well and, stuck between two enemies, I was raped. I rage quit then, because I didn't understand:
How can a nation have allies that come into the war late? Wont they not be allies if they don't arise to the occasion? And shouldn't they be listed as the Nation's allies before the war in its little tab?
I'm not terribly experienced with the game, but I know enough to realize that I'm missing something here.
Can anyone explain?
