What's the official policy on DRM? I keep hearing Paradox games are DRM-free but here's what I've seen:

- Games with launch even without Steam/Paradox launcher
- Games can launch with only the base game running, none of the installed DLC
- I've seen a "your ownership of this DLC could not be verified" message when trying to launch a game while offline, and when using the DLC files from the GOG version on the Paradox version (but not vice-versa)

That last one most definitely sounds like DRM. What happens if you have to reinstall or reformat your system while offline? What happens if you copy the game to a different system, will it stay verified? What happens if Paradox, for whatever reason, cannot verify your legit copy of the game? And most importantly, y u du dis, Paradox? I thought you knew better.

I'm not sure there is a specific declared policy on that topic.

In general PDS games can be run without a client or a launcher, although with some functionality missing (eg use of mods).

In general PI games cannot, they must be launched from Steam or the PDX client, and the PDX launcher in most cases.

There is no intention that GoG purchases can be run from the Paradox client, although it can be fudged. The intent is they be run from Galaxy or directly from the file system.
