PDS is happy to present:
My name is: Jonas Wickerström
My forum nick is: Mrop
At Paradox development studio I work as: Programmer
So what do I do, really – what does that mean? I’ve only worked here for about 3 months, but so far, I’ve been mostly working with implementing different GUI:s, as well as fixing bugs (spent about a month and a half on EU4 fixing bugs). Implementing GUI:s can be a lot of fun, most of the time...
Right now I'm working on: Secret Project 2
I have worked on: Before I started working at PDS, I made some smaller games for competitions and sites such as Kongregate.
Little known fact about a Paradox Development Studio game: You should be thankful we have artists and not let the programmers do all the art. Disregard any programmers opinion on this subject.
My best game ever (that I did not create): Civilization. I guess I always come back to this, so I can’t really pick a specific game in the series. It is just such a nice game to relax with, and you can play however you want. As a history and game nerd, I like to see the result of the process of abstracting historical forces and phenomena into game mechanics. Also, nuking Gandhi is fun.
My hobbies include: Watching cartoons, making games. Huge board game fan.
My favorite quote: “It seems that perfection is attained not when there is nothing more to add, but when there is nothing more to remove.”
I have decorated my desk with: A model of the warship Vasa, a Doctor Whooves vinyl figure, and a Fionna plushie.
My kryptonite is: Rat poison
Bonus fact: My voice contributed to this year´s holiday gift from PDS that you can get here:
