I have often thought about the possibility of a paradox development studios made mmo(rpg). I wonder, how would everyone else on this forum feel about that thought?

And more importantly, which devs would like to do one? :D

an MMO would probably be devastating to PI to develop. both in time needed having to just learn everything unique to the genre, but in that it would permanently hinder them from other projects.

and you know what's the closest thing to an MMO GS (not that such a thing exists): multiplayer

LFG 80 lvl France. Mil tech 22, Quality Tree, 60k manpower. Have [Better Than Napoleon] [Big Blue Blob]. This week truce-locked with Ottomans. Can raid Austria.

If they ever make a MMORPG. Its has be something they do on the side of their main projects in which takes many many years with no time limit or money constraints. From my understanding those games seem to take a toll on a company. - Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Games.

oh hell yeah. the toll is quite brutal. constant upkeep an addition of servers, little time to work on other projects, massive teams all 100% dedicated just to keeping the system running, etc etc.

this is why microsoft and bungie had to cancel the Halo MMO in the mid-2000s, because bungie wouldn't be able to continue work on Halo 3.

I was under the same impression. The cost and time of them to make is enormous. That said I think MMOs have the greatest potential of any genre.

The MMORPG genre is going through an evolution phase right now as it is.

I don't think it would be a wise investment, unless they had an exceptionally innovative take on it.

Not interested, and I think it would be very costly.
