At a press conference at Gamescom, Paradox Interactive presented Paradox Connect for the first time.

It is an umbrella brand for all Paradox Interactive online activities.

These activities include an online ID for each user, forum, Paradox Achievements, DLC and online games.

Exciting is the Achievements in particular, that selected games from the past should be equipped with it!

Here is the Design Goals Overview:

Interestingly, no news of a fourth EU3 expansion, I wonder what the 'download team' is up to?

They have announced CK2, SR:CW, Paradox Connect (and the first online game, Dreamlords : Resurrection) and Cities in Motion.
There also make presentation of Pride of Nations, Magicka, Sword of the Stars II, the new LionHeart and Vicky 2. They are really nice people.

Oh and I have published in depth informations on my website (strategium alliance), screens, trailers, interview videos will follow (wifi is very slow here). It's in French though.

Nobody thought Project Serpen would be a CW game, there were at most hopes. And knowing the Supreme Ruler series, no, this game will not even come close to filling that demand.

It is. And just so no one is misinformed, AGEOD began working on this game before P'dox announced V2. Lack of resources slowed it down, though. Presumably, that's one reason the Philippes let themselves be bought out.

I think the idea is that you get the stuff for free if you register your game (so pirates don't get it). Kinda like you get the strategy guides for Paradox games once you've registered your game here on the forums.

I could be wrong, of course.

So far, Paradox DLC has had no influence on whether or not you were able to play online.
Skins, extra music etc. that don't influence the checksum.

Well then, hopefully that won't change. I never buy DLC anyway, (with the exceptions of expansions) so that had me panicking for a few minutes.

Not anything to be concerned with, IMHO. Anything required by the game should be in the game itself.

We need more information! I'm missing the Paradox expansion, and I'm quite intrigued because of Cities on motion, as well as knowing moré of Pride of Nations.

Though I'm willing to play a Cold War grand-strategy game, the supreme ruler series has been such a disappointment for me that my expectations are not very high. I wish to be mistaken here.
