Good Day,

I had the Paradox Launcher installed 2020 sometime, on a Hard Drive that has stopped Working ( I THINK - BY THE LOOKS OF IT)

Now I want to get back to playing City Skylines ,But the Launcher has issues as it is unable to find it...
Not sure what is going on...
Cant uninstall to reinstall the Launcher...
I get this message...ATTACHED .png

Im guessing there are residual Files Saved somewhere on my C Drive or so..
I have done a search and Deleted everything That seems to pertain to Paradox but still the same issue...

Any advice would be appreciated...
Thank you

You can bypass the launcher by following these instructions:

- Download the attached cities.bat.zip file
- extract cities.bat from it
- Place the .bat file in your game's Steam folder (In the same place as your cities.exe)
- Right click the game in your Steam library
- Go to properties
- Select Set Launch Options
- Copy and Paste cities.bat %command% into the input box
- Select Ok
- Run the game

Sorry for that problem!

YOu ARE A LEGEND... Its working now

THANK YOU VERY MUCH...

Could you maybe advise Why one would want to use the Paradox Launcher?
if this .bat file is able to be done?
does Paradox Launcher add any functionality or anything really to the game?

Thank you once again

I've recently got an older pc from a friend and got everything set up that I needed. Everything on the computer is completely fresh (software wise). Originally when I tried to start CS it would pop up as starting for a second, then nothing would happen. Neither steam, paradox launcher, or the game itself were running. however if I looked in my steam library it would show the game as running. I would hit stop and the button would display "stopping" until I restarted my computer. I tried reinstalling the game, disabling anti virus, updating drivers, unsubscribing from workshop items. I tried this solution but I don't think I did it right. I unzipped the file and put the contents into a normal file named cities.bat and put it in the steamapps>common>cities:skylines folder. I wasn't sure if this is the right place because I couldn't find cities.exe. and I'm not sure if I unzipped it right. I pasted the command into the launch options box and tried to start, but it gave me a real error message this time and opened up the cities.bat folder.

I think this solution will work I just think I did it wrong, any help would be appreciated. I've attached screenshots of most of what I talked about. Thankyou

That looks like you haven't unzipped the cities.bat.zip file, just renamed it. You need to extract cities.bnat FROM the .zip file and place it where cities.exe is, you'll then see it as a file there not a folder.

Yes, This worked! Thank you. I had them in a folder when the contents should have been inside that bigger folder.
