Paradox Launcher Not Installing

Hey guys, finally got around to building that new PC. However ran into some issues on installation of the Paradox launcher. Some help would be greatly appreciated.

So my issue is installing the Paradox launcher. Specifically when I go to run the game on Steam, the launcher install.exe pops open and when I go to install it keeps prompting me the same message
- "another installation is in progress you must complete that installation before continuing"

Naturally I go to run the executable without steam open, same prompt.

Uninstall the game, reinstall. Same prompt.

PC restart. Same prompt.

Not sure where to go from here so any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

You never need to start the launcher separately as it needs to know which game you want to play.

Have you tried deleting all traces of the launcher and starting the game? Starting the game should then download a fresh version of the launcher.

The issue is installing the launcher to begin with. On first installation alone, it would not install.

Ive tried closing the background launcher just to see if it would help in taskbar, it just closes this. I have reinstalled several times, it still gets clogged at this same part. I even tried batch skipping the launcher all together. Still redirects me to this. Confusing...

I tried this. It just bricks the launch prompting me "files missing".

You can bypass the launcher by following these instructions:

Download the attached cities.bat.zip file
Extract from it cities.bat
Place the .bat file in your game's Steam folder (In the same place as your cities.exe)
Right click the game in your Steam library
Go to properties
Select Launch Options
Copy and Paste cities.bat %command% into the input box
X out of that screen
Run the game
