Paradox Launcher (Steam Install) does not download/update Paradox Plaza Mods

Description​

I'm using a Steam install of Crusader Kings 3 , but when I launch the Paradox Launcher it downloads my Paradox Plaza playlist from the cloud but doesn't download any of the mods.

Steam Workshop mods and Local mods work fine.

I've had this problem for a few months / Launcher versions now (since November-ish I think ? I probably didn't notice for a while though since it doesn't actually show up until you try and play with a mod that should be updated or try and look at the files for a new mod and they aren't there )

I've tried clean installs ( uninstalling CK3 and the Launcher and deleting my User folder but that doesn't help, it just means nothing is download from my Paradox Plaza mods.

If I try and force a download by "validate mod files" it does nothing. If I do it by trying to lock a version it says "Initializing..." and then nothing happens , when I restart the launcher it says the Installation was interrupted and to log in.

I'm not sure what Logs to attach for this but if you let me know what you need I can provide them.

I do have a *lot* of Steam mods but I don't know why that would matter.

I have a similar issue where I'm trying to get Divine Intervention Cheat Menu from ParadoxPlaza, it shows in the playset and everything, but in-game nothing happens. I have all the latest versions (of the game, of the mod, etc). Let me know if you could find any fix to this!

This is fixed now, at least in 2025.rc-3 but since it wasn't fixed in that version last time I started it it's probably a more generic fix.

Edit - Actually I spoke to soon, it's *partially* fixed , some mods are now downloading but apparently it got interrupted part way through the list.

Actually it seems to be broken again, I updated to 2025.4-rc and it no longer seems to be downloading Paradox Plaza mods.

No, it is working, it's just not working well, it often gets stuck in the middle of downloading ( the error msg after quitting and restarting suggests it gets disconnected from the PDX server and has no ability to attempt to reconnect) , and there's no good way to force it to resume or redownload a specific mod (you can't use validate because it doesn't work if the zip file hasn't actually been downloaded ). I've spent 5 days on and off playing around with this at this point, and I've gotten to the point that it's successfully downloaded all by 1 of my Paradox Plaza mods but it's been a real struggle.

Still better than it being completely broken which was the former state.

This has improved a bit but it's still very bad, I've spent 2 weeks at this point trying to get the last 2 mods to download, they mostly hang somewhere between 25 and 50% and there's no way to pause and resume them or even reliably get them to restart the download.

The last 2 mods are quiet large but you allow mods of that size to be uploaded to Paradox Plaza , so I should be able to download them without them constantly breaking.

I'm using the Beta Preview of the Launcher and it appears to be setting the log permissions wrong because I'm now getting this error.

Manually checking the permission show's that even Administrator accounts don't have permission to view the permissions.
