Steps to reproduce​

i start the game in steam, paradox launcher opens up and tells me it cant access my documents folder

Expected Result​

i expected it to be able to load the game since it worked before i installed the game new

Actual Result​

it cant start it

Ah, that is usually an antivirus app getting in the way. What antivirus app do you use? You need to make sure all these apps are in its exceptions lists:


cities2.exe and dowser.exe (in the Steam CSL2 folder)
C:/users/{username}/AppData/Local/Programs/Paradox Interactive/launcher-v2.2025.9/paradox launcher.exe
C:/users/{username}/AppData/Local/Programs/Paradox Interactive/bootstrapper-v2.exe


IF that doesn't help, Right click on Documents in the left column of File Explorer, just under This PC there. Go to properties, location. What does it say there?

thats writen under the location of my documents folder
the programm in appdata paradox ..... doesnt even show up and i already tried installing it manually but it doesnt work and repairing also fails (see log in this post)

Well that is wrong, it should be C:\Users\(user)\Documents! Are you sure of that, can we see a screenshot please?

You have them the wrong way around - Paradox Interactive is under AppData/Local/Programs:
C:/users/{username}/AppData/Local/Programs/Paradox Interactive/
