Firstly, that message is misleading, you probably haven't really been logged in elsewhere. It's just a generic guess as to what the connection problem might be.
Are you having any general Internet slowness or unreliability?
Is this just while playing solo, or in MP too or only?

Hi Andrew. Firstly thanks for moving this to the Stellaris tech sup forum. The message was so generic it would never have occurred to me that it was / could be game specific
.Anyway, no, I was having no other connectivity issues whatsoever (Steam, Discord, streaming etc. It was playing solo. And yesterday the problem occurred reliably within a couple of minutes of loading a save.
Today, of course, there appears to be no such problem vOv.
