I can't find the info I need about this anywhere, so I hope someone here can help me. I was wondering whether the games in this pack are full working Paradox games that can have mods and Paradox patches applied to them. There are 6 games- EUII, COTN, Two Thrones, HOI, Vicky and CK (I think). The copy I saw in the store had an Atari symbol on it, so I imagine they are the distributer.

I am asking as I previously bought the EUII and COTN bundled games only to find I could not mod them or patch them with Paradox patches. The only patch available for these bundled games is completely useless. So I don't want another useless copy of EUII.

Thanks for any help.

The EU2:Asian chapter, is not supported by Paradox, Typhoon games released that one. The other games are fully supported by Paradox.

However you should be able to patch the EU2 that came with Crown of the north, it is just that Paradox does not support that version as it was a SF release.

Castellon, Master.... Please help

Unhapilly, I just bought the strategy pack. Here's the scoop:

HOI1: Version 1.06c, No C.O.R.E. (even though it sets up an icon for it)

EU2 & Eu2 Aisa: No distinguishing between them. If you load both, you have AISA with additional scenarios. Many scanarios cause CTD just by selecting them on the initial screen. Is there any fix for this?

Victoria: Loads properly, have not tried to play

Two Thrones / Crown of the north. Crown also had a CTD on initial attempt.

all disks say "strategy pack" on the face, with the name of the game at the bottom.

NO MANUALS.

I hate the CTD. I am a HOI/HOI2 veteran / Modder

Which store did you see it in? I asked at EB, they said they knew nothing, so I ordered online from http://www.gameswarehouse.com.au/longpage.asp?gameid=10468; but now their second 'arrival date' has passed and still nothing (delayed). Even though Auran (publisher in Aus.) apparently have it in stock. Grrr.

Wryun: I saw it in Games Rush, the Melbourne city store.

The only patch that will work with this version of EUII comes from Strategy First, this patch is completely useless. The other issue is modding which has always been a big part of Paradox games and this version of EUII can not be modded!

I've decided not to buy it as no one has given me a direct answer and I'm not willing to waste the money on another version of EUII that I can't mod or patch properly. As for Strategy First I sent them an email, which they have never answered, and I will NEVER buy another one of their products. I would suggest Paradox re-evaluates it's partnership with them. I have always found Paradox to be very interested in criticism and feedback about it's games, it's such a shame that other companies aren't so interested.

After I finish a game of CK I'll order EUII directly from Paradox. Also, I would recommend that people interested in modding their games never buy bundled versions unless others have first tried this.

Paradox is now self publishing it's new games in the NA market.

You should be able to patch that version though.

Thanks for your information, Cassimyr.

I too was interested in the pack, but decided to purchase EU2, Victoria, Crusader Kings & Crown of the North / Valhalla seperately due to comments like yours and many others.

Clearly not Paradox's best move, sadly.

Anyway, thanks again. You've evidently saved me a lot of money and waisted effort.

Jim.

Um what "mistake" would that be exactly?

I bought this 6 in 1 set and I'd tell people not to buy it if they want to play MP. It does need a different patch for some reason and you can't play with anyone who doesn't have the 6 in 1 set nor can you play mods like AGCEEP. In retrospect I wouldn't buy the 6 in 1 pack for those reasons.

Well I am looking into those issues.
As far as the mods why can you not play the agceep?

I install the latest version of AGCEEP for the new beta as directed on the AGCEEP website. I do a fresh install of EU2 and make sure there are no other mods installed then (since the 6 in 1 comes with v1.08 already installed) I apply the beta. Once I have installed AGCEEP per the default options I launch AGCEEP using the desktop AGCEEP icon and the program runs fine. I select one of two campaigns in AGCEEP and select my country then hit the launch button.

The game begins loading normally but once it is 75% done I get an error message which says and error has occured would I like to ignore, retry, or abort? No matter what option I press I get a CTD and this error message always comes up when ever I try to launch an AGCEEP game.

Have you asked in the AGCEEP forum about this? There are different AGCEEP versions that work with different EU2 versions so you need to make sure you use the right one.

Anyway that would be an issue for them.

From what I've read the EU2 in the six-pack is the same as EU2 with the 1.08 patch and should not have a problem with betas or mods. EU2 Asian Chapter has some definite issues according to jungkhans' thread on it but that's not the same game. None of the reports of problems with the six-pack EU2 has been definitely linked to that version yet that I'm aware of.

Don't get worked up about what is said on here unless I say it. Lots of peole have patched that version just fine.
