Why on the same weekend as Age of Empires 4's free test weekend?

I bought Empire of Sin on Steam. I can't get it to run, it wants to connect with your launcher, but even after I connect on your site, to steam, it still will not run., This has been the most aggravating experience I ever had trying to get a game to run. I have used every other launcher, like origin with no problem. I would rather belly crawl through broken glass and salt than buy another game from paradox.
