Hi,

I'm one of the, seemingly, may people who has purchased the game and have yet to have it work. I purchased the game through Steam and have only been able to play a custom game. If I go to play the campaign the screen goes black and that's it, I'm left with the pointy finger cursor and a black screen and have to do ctrl alt del and shut it down through task manager.
Are these patches automatically applied? Is there something that I need to do?
Come on guys, a little customer service please.

Thanks,
sorry for your issue. You should start a thread and report this in the tech support & bug forum. But the patches do automatically apply.

Sorry pal, I saw this just now. Some people have reported that updating the drivers of your graphics card might do the trick. Does that help you?

I'm noticing an issue where Dwarves will try walking up wooden stairs of various types, but they start climbing one block too soon, reach the elevation that should be the top, but then realize they are not standing on anything, flail about a bit, then fall back down onto the block they should have started climbing from. They will then start climbing the stairs properly and continue on their merry way. So far I have only observed this behavior on levels deeper than the first dirt levels

I am also noticing that they tend to treat 1 level ladders like stairs, though they don't have the issues with trying to climb them too soon. ie, instead of walking up to the ladder, then going straight up, they will walk onto the tile of the ladder, then move up at a diagonal angle until they reach the top.
-On a related note, there does not appear to be any sort of ladder usage animation, but all activities seem to be available while on a ladder, such as digging and fighting, yet the same can not be said of stairs.
