I´m puzzled here... Never had problems with this before, but here goes:

I have the Anthology version, freshly installed.

Got the patch from the thread link, downloaded it, placed it in the correct folder (Armageddon).

It seems to work fine - listing progress and files being extracted and telling me it´s done when it´s done - but still the version of the game doesn´t change. It reads 1.1 anyway when I start up the game.

Tried it first with my old install - didn´t work.

Tried it with new install (only Armageddon installed from the Anthology box, the rest removed). Nope.

Tried to install DD also to see if Arma somehow is dependent on Doomsday and then downloaded the patch. No sir.

Tried to load the patch to the DD folder instead - as the patch install guide suggests - didn´t work.

What am i doing wrong here?

I had the same problem in the same situation, Anthology and the version didn't change when I installed the patch. In my case the installer was trying to put the files in the wrong folder. It wanted to put them in-

C:\Program Files\Paradox Interactive\Doomsday\Armageddon

like I had downloaded Arma as the expansion pack for DD. With the Anthology I would think you want it to go to-

C:\Program Files\Paradox Interactive\Armageddon

or whatever folder your version of Armageddon is actually in.

Thanks for trying guys...

Well, I always install games in a map called "games". I put every game there to have things in order. So I really don´t think that is the problem... I know where the game is and I direct the patch there.

I think I may have figured this out guys

OK, I used to have HOI2, Doomsday and the Gamersgate version of Armageddon, but couldn't find my Armageddon file to reinstall so for a bargain basement $20 I purchased the Anthology from GameStop today.

Commence issues.
Like people above I couldn't load the thing correctly. Long story short, if you already have HOI2 products on your computer and intend to do a full re-install, I highly recommend that you follow Castellan's advice in the thread above about manually deleting HOI2. I didn't find a installation entry but did delete all the Paradox keys in the registry since I never intended to use that particular version of the HOI2 games anyway.

After getting rid of the old Paradox HOI2 registry keys, I went back and installed the Anthology, this time HOI2, then Doomsday, and finally Armageddon. (My first Anthology install was borked too)

Most important step:
When installing the 1.2 patch for Armageddon, it wants to default to a directory location that won't work.
1. Hit "Browse" and then find your Armageddon sub-directory under Paradox.
2. It will close that window and then take you back to the previous screen. Notice that there is still a X:\Program Files\Paradox Interactive\Armageddon\Doomsday text entry there.
3. Manually delete the bolded text from line 2 above so that the patch will install to X:\Program Files\Paradox Interactive\Armageddon.

The patch will now properly overwrite the subdirectories in Armageddon that it needs to in order update the existing files.
This worked for me- the program starts up as v1.2 of Armageddon now and all is right with the world of HOI2.

Hope this helps guys,
