Hi fellow Aussies,
If you bought EU2 here, we got version 1.00 and there are problems with it which you might be finding confusing.
Apparently this version was not originally intended to be released to the public (it still has a number of bugs and problems supposedly), but for some reason we got it anyway. By comparison, other countries who recently got EU2 were given a version that had been updated to 1.04.
As far as I can gather we got a slightly modified version of the US game, but if we apply the official patches for the US game we get Error messages that say the Wrong CD has been inserted. I think that it was the Protection that was modified rather than the game content - not sure though.
Apparently there are several possibilities for us. One is to track down an incomplete and premature release of patch 1.05 which Ozisoft put out. Another is to wait until Paradox complete an Australian version of 1.05 (no idea when that might be). And a third is to PM me and ask how it can be done.
As the 1.05 is 15megs is will take a fair while to download, so it might be worth waiting for the official Aussie version.
