Whenever I downloaded the patch everything went smooth but when i found it on desktop and clicked it, it said that i was installing EU2 again. It didn't just do the patch. It looked as if it was trying to reinstall the game. Any ideas of what i should do?

Oh yeah. What is a mod?

a mod is a user created addition to the regular game, they can be scenarios containing new events or extra graphics etc. some like the AGCEEP and Mongolian Campaign are great. :)

Hi Derek:

I'm not sure. Are you saying you put the patch's icon on your desktop?

Well, there's an easy way to find out. Take the CD out of your drive. You don't need it to play EU2 anyway.

Now, doubleclick.

If it's the patch, then it should install normally. Just follow the directions and make sure it goes into the right directory. (The same directory your EU2 files live in.)

If it is trying to reinstall the game, then it's going to give you a 'CD not in drive' error. Just hit cancel.

Your best bet is to find where the patch was saved on your hard drive, and double-click it manually.

A Mod is also short for Moderator, that is me! :)

as for your patch just go ahead and try it nothing bad can happen, back up your saves or mods if you are worried.
