Patch Query?

Hello ive just bought the Rome game today. I admit i notice that other people have the same problem as ive just discovered with the game often crashing when picking a preselect scenario. I have done what sticky says and its still happening even with the latest patch. I have a new computer with Nvidia 8400GS graphic card with latest drivers.

What i do want to know is to do with the patch and also the games checksum details as you call it in the manual. It claims that the games up to date information should be in the lower left hand corner of the main menu. Well as far as i can tell there is nothing there, nor anywhere else. So im not sure if the patch has downloaded properly. Can tech support clarify on this discrepancy, should it be there, or is it another problem? Hope to hear from someone soon thank you.

If there is nothing there you have not applied the patch successfully. Simply downloading the patch file is not enough, you must then close ROME and then execute the patch .exe file by double-clicking on it.

Hello thanks for your reply. But im not too sure what you mean. It seems i have installed the patch somehow. I downloaded from the site then it asked me to install it which i did. The readme files shows me the latest information from the patch so i suppose it has installed. Let me know if this is not right? Hope to hear from you soon.

It does sound like you've applied it then, but I really don't understand why you don't see the 1.1 version during the startup process ... did you have the launcher closed when you applied it? If not you'll need to apply it again.

Hello thanks for your reply. No, i tried to close the launcher but then i lose the patch thing to install the files from the site. How do you meant to download the files then? Because ive got Vistas i run the whole download from the site, i dont save it anywhere first. Let me know how it should be done thanks.

Download the patch, then close the loader before you install the patch. I just did this on my Vista machine and it worked. Goodluck.

You can also download the patch from here, so you don`t have to use launcher.
