Face it, Rome patch gets released when they finish the beta patch for CK1. :p

The difference is however that CKI beta is stable and finished product and they could publish it as an official patch any time they wanted. Latest Rome patch however is horribly broken and unplayable. Rome betas fix cascading alliance issue which made the game unbalanced, but while doing that they introduce series of crashbugs (while each patch fixes previous bugs it introduces new ones). So currently Vae Victis is practically unplayable with or without beta patch. I only wish that they would fix these issues so that I could play the game which I bought with my hard earned denarii.

Well, as a republic, I could play it with hardly any crashes and, certainly, no regular crash. But sure, that can't be it. I'd love to play a monarchy next and that is totally impossible.

So, yes, Paradox, please, fix at least the crash bugs before you put EU:Rome on the shelf for good.

I actually wonder if Paradox devs even are checking in on this forum at all. Seems that they are constantly on CK2's forums, even EU3 and HOI3 get responses. Here, though , we only get moderators with their best guesses on what the devs are doing. Pretty unfortunate. If the game is not to be given further attention, I wish it would just be moved to the "previous games from PDS" section so we can stop wondering. At this point I really don't care one way or the other, I have other games, I just would like to hear from them where they stand on the development. They were so quick to put Darkest hour into a "classic games" section, even though it was still in development (and is). So, just move this game or give it attention, please.

what can you expect? This game is shelved, like it or not. Best you can expect is them announcing Rome 2 (or even better, something like Antiquity Universalis, that doesn't just focus on Rome)

If they are going to shelve it, shelve it. Take it off the forum's main page, and place it in the CK1 category. Why continue to make empty promises? That's my point. Nothing more.

I regret purchasing EU:Rome, not because it's a bad game, but because of this patch business. When I purchased EU;ROME, the latest beta patch was brand new, and I was hoping it would get a quick update when people immediately noticed the government crash. That was about a year ago, and we haven't heard any news other than, "He'll get around to it when he gets around to it", and letting this game remain quite bugged, (either cascading alliances, or lots of CTD's if you wanna actually run your country), just because CK2 is popular, is absurd in my eyes.

Agreed. I have CK2, and they are patching that so fast that you have people crying to slow down, and meanwhile the devs won't even reply to the entire Rome forum. Meanwhile Shams is on a youtube video blaming a lack of customer interest in the game on no sequel to Rome? No it not a lack of interest, its a lack of developer responsiveness. I bought this game, thinking it would have the same care given as EU3, but no such luck. oh well.
