Patching 1.04 Problems

Ok this is the problem the exact problem i and a few others had with the 1.03 patch. i manually uninstall hoi then cleared the registry. then reinstalled and applied the 1.04 Na patch.
seemed to load in fine until the last few seconds when i get an error message saying it couldn't update my Hoi.exe file because it detected an invalid version. redid the above and same outcome again. please help. only way 1.03 worked was when 1.03b came out. Hope I don't have to wait for 1.05. thanxs

RAM:192

Free HDD space:16 Gigs

Video (brand, model, driver, memory):Hercules prophet PCI 32Mb

Sound (brand, model, driver):miles

DirectX Version:8.1

Other:

I read the stickies but I still have the following problem:same as above post

Ok game vesion I am a little unsure of.
Goin to Hoi.exe and into properties i got:
file version 1.0.0.1
file version description 1.03
product version 1.03

mind you i did reinstall the 1.03b patch to sate my needs.
if i need to do a clean install with no-patch to get correct version let me know. And on a whim i tried the 1.04 uk patch. didnt work from the getgo.

Publisher is also tricky. on my cd, startegy first and paradox show up together. But is Copyrited 2002 Strtegy first Inc.

SF is the publisher.

Did you manually delete all the folders for HOI?
Also try installing to the default path.

I have to manually uninstall Hoi because my unistall doesn't work.
I 've done it 3 more times since last post and everytime the last few seconds left in the patch, I get the same "Invalid version of Hoi.exe detected." At least I'm not as frantic to get this to work as I was back when only 1.02 worked for me. 1.03b with stony road keeps me quite satisfied for the moment.

If you just delete HOI folders you also need to clear the registry entries. Especially if you did not install to the default directory.
