to increase the speed of MDS 2 i need a version with 1.2. But after reinstalling the game is still says i have got a newer version. (this is correct as i have several versions of hoi 2 and hoi 2 dd, 17 all in all, but not in the paradox interactive folder). so what should i do? erasing my other versions is no option for me.

You can't downgrade from the latest patch to an earlier one. The only way to do that is to reinstall the original version from CD, and apply only the patch you desire.

As for having multiple installs on your drive. Yes, that's possible, but there will be only one of those as entry in the registry. That will be the one on the location you originally installed to. Only the game on that location will be manipulated by a patch.

So, if you want to patch a different folder than the original install location, you either have rename the folders, or copy the contents around a bit. You will want to have the installation you want to have patched in the original installation folder.
