patching Steam version of HoI2 Arma?

Hey there

As I pre-ordered Hoi3 via steam a got myself a free copy of Hoi2 complete package. I was just looking around some nice mods i hadn't played yet and for all I can see most of them would prefer to be installed over patch version 1.3a apparently. But for whatever reason the client installed via steam is version 1.2 only. What is the most suitable way to get it up to the latest version?

Which game are you trying to patch? Latest versions:
HoI2 1.3a
Doomsday 1.3a
Armageddon 1.2 (there is also a beta version 1.3)

These are all completely separate patches.

Ah I see. So I got that wrong. Then how do find out which version of Hoi2 I have? Or can I simply assume it is the most recent one? As I said I'm running it via Steam, so I have not installed any patch yet and I'm also not quite sure which is which to be honest. It's a little confusing.

It should have the version in the upper-right corner of the main menu. If it doesn't say 'Doomsday' or 'Armageddon' then you are running the vanilla HoI2.
Not sure how this Steam 'complete' package works but normally HoI2 and Doomsday are standalone games and Armageddon must be installed over Doomsday. (In the case of the Paradox-distributed HoI2 Anthology though all three are separate installable games.)
