Pax Americana

After playing several conquer-a-good-portion-of-the-world-as-the-US games and not being able to have them converted correctly to HOI, I decided that I’d have to make a mod myself. Thus was born Pax Americanus, an HOI world in which instead of the American Revolutionary War being semi-pyrrhic for the Americans, the British were soundly defeated. Taking advantage of the opportunity, the Americans quickly established themselves as one of the world’s powers. They, along with much of the rest of the major powers, went on an expansion streak, and were present at the Berlin Conference.

Based on a map that someone here on the forums (I don’t remember who it is, but whoever you are, thank you, I really appreciate it) has drawn, I’ve begun e-sketching out what the world looks like in Pax Americanus’ 1936. Europe and South America remain largely the same, though Asia and Africa are affected by the Americans’ insertion into history. Historical events did not turn out the same.

For instance, WWI never happened, but something similar to the end results of the war (not too sure about that part) happened, and the Central Powers suffered the same fate.

China is still unified should war against the Japanese ever happen, but it may be crippled by internal squabbles.

The UK is still the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland.

Certain nations’ flags will be updated to reflect the ahistorical situation, including Canada.

There are a lot of other differences from the real world, but to find out what they are, you’ll have to pray to God (or whatever deity you may pray to) that I can actually finish this mod and then find out.

Basically, the PNG map is only a placeholder until I can actually make an IG version.

UPDATE: The blank world map can be found here. It's by CrackdToothGrin.

so WWI didn't happen, and yet Germany is set up exactly the same as post Treaty of Versailles, an unlikely treaty which would not have been the same in AH?

Also, the map coloration doesn't indicate non-independent South Africa, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. It was just easier to indicate the American Empire and the Commonwealth with one unified color per each.

then Finland is also soviet republic? Poland should then also be reduced, to make Belarus and Ukraine. Though if ww1 didn't happen, but russian revolution did, then all northen and eastern european states, except russia, should be more pro-germanic, then with soviet union. thats especially because russia would be weak because of revolution, while germany would not. that also means that poland's independence (and currently suggested size) is highly questionable.

Germany should have pre ww1 borders in Europe. Poland (old russian parts) and Finland should be Soviet republics. Has Austria- Hungary survived or brokekn down, anyway if A-H had collapsed the'd anyway be a larger Hungary (Transylvania, Banat, and perhaps Slovakia) with Croatia as a puppet. Probably and independent Bohemia (or czechoslovakia), and semi independent bosnia (could be serbian puppet too), a independent montenegro, though allied with serbia. Austria should keep holding slovenia, and Galizia should be independent, probably german influenced (a buffer against the soviet republics of Ukraine and Poland).

If US has intervened there might have been some early decolonization. perhaps a handful of independent nations in Africa, and no more colonialism in Asia.

It would of course be interresting if there was a American influenced democratic Republic of Siberia, and a japanese influenced Republic of Primorsk, that would somewhat create a interresting conflict involving the soviets, the japanese and the americans.

I've been thinking about it, and taking WWI out of the history just doesn't make sense. WWI did happen, but the US intervened earlier. The end result was the same.

Finland will not be Soviet, but if Russia wins the Winter War instead of taking the peace treaty, there will definitely be a communist government set up.

WWI was an European war, so USA status did no affect european relations. I think the same about WWII, except for the USA-Japan war.

My idea is that the UK intervened on behalf of the Union in the US Civil War, and so the UK and the US have been allied ever since. Basically, the US was involved in WWI from the start. However, due to US commanders being just as incompetent as those from other nations, the war took the same amount of time.

As shown by the latest map, Primorsk will either be occupied by the Japanese or be a Japanese puppet. Hungary will be allied with Germany, and AI Germany will be most likely to give Slovakia to Hungary instead of making it a puppet. I'm considering splitting up Yugoslavia, and Siberia will remain part of communist Russia.
