The two games are treated as separate versions entirely. Firstly, Console Edition is based on version 1.7 of the game. Secondly, because of the extensive changes that were made to the UI, these are very much two different games at this point. This may be something that we look into to doing in future, but for now we're keeping development of the two versions separate.

Just wanted to comment on this myself as well. I understand the reasoning for this, the versions are very different at this point. But I do hope it's something that will be possible in the future. Even if the only way of making it work is PC players having to revert to whatever patch the console version is using, that would be good enough for me. I've been telling my Xbox friends a lot about this game, so being able to actually play with them would be awesome.

In any case, both consoles do in fact support mouse/keyboard now so seeing support for that would also be welcome.

It could be something that we look at in the future, but with all things, this will be based on what's viable for us to achieve both financially and also with time-frame constraints. right now it's very much up in the air. We know it's a requested feature, so time will tell if this is achievable for us. :)
