  • Cities in Motion
Hi,
Yesterday i bought Cities in Motion Collection boxed but Steam version.
I have a strange problem with this game that is common for Ati owners (i have a NVIDIA video card): when i start the game (either campaign or sandbox and with all maps) pc reboots without bluescreens (already disabled the auto-reboot) or error messages (only the event-id 41). The thing that i noticed is that it happens as soon as i scroll the mouse wheel to the highest visual. I've already tried to delete settings.script, update nvidia drivers to the latest, lowered all graphics, ran in windowed mode, re-install the game, cleaned all fans inside the pc and even put the .dll file for ati boards in the game folder without luck. This is the only game that cause this kind of problems (i play the latest games with highest graphics settings without any problem so i don't think it's caused by overheating or poor pc config).
My specs are:
cpu intel i7 960 @ 3.20GHz
ram 8,00 GB
video Nvidia GeForce GTX 580
OS Windows 7 64.

N0v3m83r welcome to the forum!

Try to install Nvidia drivers with lower versions. Make a clean install. Remove the drivers you currently have and install the one below what you have now. If you don't succeed keep doing it with lower graphic drivers. I think it won't be too much trouble. I have 306.97 and the game works perfectly. Do not install beta drivers.

If this is the solution for your problem, report it to nvidia, so they can know that newest drivers are incompatible with current games. They listen to this kind of things, I know.

I hope it helps.

Nothing.....
I tried what you said without any luck!
Do you think it's a driver issue?
It's a bit strange that a driver cause a full reboot without blue screen,is it?
I tried to run the game on my old laptop with an ati card and goes very slow but without restarting pc.....
dunno what to do!

Have you tried without the .dll file for ati boards?

Also try without other programs running in the backgroud such as anti-virus.

This is a very strange behavior. I never read such report.

I understand it happens when you choose screen resolution. Try changing your screen resolution from the config.exe file (located in the folder where you installed the game), and then launch the game.

P.S: I am moving this conversation to the thread you opened in the tech support section.
