Peasant build speed concerns

Love the game so far. Quick question though.

Does it slow down my building progress to have more than one building at a time under construction? In other words does it "split up" the number of peasants to each building thereby cutting down the building progress of each in half?

Yes and no, u can have 2 peasents at one building

The peasants operate under a sort of AI, usually they will both work on the same building before working on the next, but it depends on how the game decides. I wouldn't recommend building two at the same time, especially if under attack from waves of enemies.
