Hi,

i noticed a huge unplayable fps drop in 10v10 mode (c-phase), especially if there is high amount of units. I'm very sure that my cpu is bottlenecking in this scenario. So is it advisable to upgrade from a 4 core cpu to an eight core cpu?

In singleplayer mode or 4v4 multiplayer games i've no fps drops (always above 60 fps) .

Greetings,

My Rig:
CPU: 7700k
GPU : 1080Ti
RAM: 2666 MHz DDR4

thanks for the fast reply. my fps drops to 20-40 in late game (10v10). a lower graphics or resolution only slightely increase fps.
i consider to upgrade to a better cpu if i can keep stable frames (at least 50-60) with it.

any experiences?

It is very unlikely that your CPU is bottlenecking the game, unless you are running a bunch of CPU intensive programs in the background.
Play the game in windowed mode and bring up the task manager (or put it on a second monitor, if you have one), sort by CPU usage and see what your CPU usage is like in the scenario you describe, as well as what tasks keep your CPU busy the most.

Is it coupled with server related lags ? Cause i see what you're talking about experiencing it myself and it's definitely related to the amount of simultaneous orders given to IA units. As IA take over automatically when players leave, there isn't much you can do i think except work the edges. Sure you may improve tremendously your rig but i'm not sure you'll gain much.

It goes both sides. Servers are handling calculations of things happening and communicate those to your client, in late game with IA players the more communication attempts the more processing time it takes on server part and it also demands much ressources to render it in your side.

Hi, at first, thank you again for your fast reply.

u will know what i mean if u watch this vid:

As you can see, Ashes of the Singularity performs very well with 4+ cores. Therefore i would like to know, if Normandy 44 is also optimized to 6 or 8 cores? Because if there is a huge amount of units in 10v10 multiplayer mode (C-Phase), the game becomes unplayable for me (fps drops to 20-30 fps).

You might want to avoid 10v10 (best idea)
