I was at a friend of mine who had recently purchased the console edition of Cities: Skylines (for Xbox One, playing on Series X) after my thorough recommendation. When there I noticed that his newly made city was having performance issues at night and during weather effects. I shrugged it off at first but when I returned home and resumed my own city these same performance hits occured. The game slows down a lot when zoomed in during either rain or night time (I presume because of the lighting effects). This did not happen not three days prior, when I last worked on my city.

I don't presume to say with certainty, but after witnessing it on two consoles on the same day post-patch, I fear something in the background may be causing these performance hits. Can anyone else playing on console corroborate?

Experienced the same issue on Xbox Series X, where zooming in during rain, especially at night would visibly cause the game to slow down/frame rate to drop, even in a brand new city with very few buildings/assets.

Noticed this as well. Very noticeable as my Xbox Series X became louder as it sped up the fan trying to keep itself cool. Seems they fixed the issue with the new update that's just dropped today.

Playing after the new patch, the issue seems to still persist with a noticeable difference between day/night. The patch also seems to have introduced some new visual bugs for me too with stretched assets/rendering issues.

After testing a bit more I've noticed that yes, the issue is still there but not as frequent or bad as it was before the update today. Xbox heats up but the fan isn't going quite as crazy. As for the stretched assets I've only noticed a half hour into my play session that the footpath at one of my intersections had been stretched. I haven't noticed anything else... yet. I'll do more testing on stuff later.
