Refer to my first posting, quoting this person. Very disingenuous and doublespeak'ish. This company isn't seeing a cent from me again lol. Whoever this community manager is should go into politics."Cities skylines 2 is built for the future"

Autosave is off by default, but it is there as an option. I highly suggest turning it on.I have an older machine, so I am not surprised I have to lower my settings. I wish there was an easier way to detect optimal settings in the game based on my configuration, but I spent a good deal of time tinkering to try and get them where the game UI would render in a more stable condition and did not look ugly. Finally got to where I thought it was good, played for 30m - 1hr and had a fatal crash. Apparently, there's no autosave, so all progress was lost.
I hope you work out your performance issues soon, but they're really making it impossible to have fun.
For a first impression you can use the windows game bar. Windows key + G. Then you can pin the performance overlay.Sorry to ask, but where can I see the fps in the game?
The game doesn't have an FPS counter. You will need to use a third party solution. If you have an NVidia card and run Geforce Experience, they have one built in that you can turn on (not sure about AMD but I would expect they have one too). You can also use other software like RivaTuner and Intel PresentMon among others. Best option is to Google it and choose what works best for you.Sorry to ask, but where can I see the fps in the game?
Steam can add an FPS counter on overlay, if you play with steam. The game doesn't have an FPS counter. You will need to use a third party solution. If you turn on devmode you can use the ingame fps counter, it's already build into the game you can only turn it on using devmode I think. To turn the fos meter on or off you can find it in the main menu. But like I said I think it only shows up if you turn dev mode on.The game doesn't have an FPS counter. over 100k population city? right? right?o while our target is 30fps
over 100k population city? right? right?
To check cpu you don't have to watch FPS, but the simulation core speed, in developer tool. It will say to you the real simulation speed and you will see if cpu handle the load. Here is an update:
I have moved the game over to my son's computer setup:
- He's using a Ryzen 7 7800X3D paired with an RTX 4070TI and 32GB of RAM.
Some of the changes I made there:
1) Turned off V-sync (I'm running a 360hz G-sync)
2) Adjusted the resolution to 1080p at 360Hz, up from the default 60Hz.
3) Followed the recommended settings provided by the makers.
After these adjustments, the game now maintains a consistent 90-100 FPS, although occasional stutters still occur, dipping to around 25 FPS. However, it's a notably smoother and more enjoyable experience when I scroll and navigate around.
Upon returning to my own system, equipped with an RTX 4080 and Ryzen 7 5800X, with the same adjustment using the same 360Hz screen, I still encountered low frame rate of 25-30 FPS.
It seems that the Ryzen 7 7800X3D may be a crucial factor in achieving better performance.
I have not done this yet, but pairing a better X3D CPU and 4080/4090 could yield more FPS?
I hope this information is helpful.
100k is handled, with my 11900k problems starting after 250k people. i can't go more than 1x at that people quantity.over 100k population city? right? right?
Just wondering what cooling are you running on that chip? I have the same one, not experienced any heat issues.I had to start three cities yesterday, and only two of them managed to be saved after my CPU kinda cooked...
I have the AMD Ryzen 7 5800X. If anyone else is having issues with it overheating, I found that if you go into the Ryzen Master and set the CPU to ECO mode, it stopped crashhing my computer. I still have the game in potato mode, so I do hope the get optimized.
As I am typing this, I am letting my CPU cool again... But I have the temp gage up so I can jump back in a soon as its good to go! Also the window in my office open. Its like 7C here...
I do very much look forward to playing this game in a way so I can see the beauty. Playing it now is kinda like playing an impressionist painting...
