I am pretty sure that we will be seeing national/province decisions implemented in CK2.

But wouldn't it be cool to also have personal decisions?? ... where the decision is personal based on my ruler's situation. Like deciding to end a rivalry (if triggers permit) or switch to being a loyalist/rebellious or change culture or something.

Seems to be logical as we are mostly playing a character rather than the nation itself.

Might be cool to have Dynasty decisions too.

Switching over (mostly) from character events to character decision just seems like the logical thing to do. The event system in CK was kind of weird sometimes. It never made much sense to me that, for example, deciding to end your rivalries depended on the whims of the RNG.

How about the decision "Commit Suicide"

But seriously, I like the idea.

Hehe. I could have used that one a few times, but I think that suicide was a big taboo back then that most Christians would not do it unless really driven to it.

Sounds great, they should make the AI deny or accept some kind of requests

Example: you make this event happen: "Try to end Rivalry with X"
And the AI should have a decision to make.

"Yes, and try to fully reconciliate." (Ends rivalry + Slight chance of becoming friends + slight relation increase.)

"Yes" (Ends rivalry)

"Yes, but only if you give me this" (End rivalry for money)

"No" (No consequences, maybe a slight relation decrease)

"No, NEVER!, I saw a comet when I was reading this letter, it's all cleary an omen and will make me fall to obivion" (Sorry, but just like "No" with a higher relation decrease.)

And maybe some consequences for the Yes (Wife, courtiers, sons, daughter does not agree, etc.)
I think I'm asking too much, but I love this idea.

I'm unsure about these decisions, where does it say Paradox is including them? What are they?

National and provincial decisions were introduced in EU3, and have been part of every game since then (all EU3 expansions), EU Rome, HOI3 and Victoria2. So I am pretty certain that decisions will be implemented in CK2 also.

They are basically like events, but the player/AI decides when to trigger them. They are of course based on certain conditions being present to be activated. But once all conditions are fulfilled, they can be enacted at any time.

The AI shouldn't be given a decision, it should be given an event. Yes, the instigator of the action should be a decision, but after that, the recipient should get an event, not a decision.

To use your example, you decide you don't want to be rivals with Robert de Hauteville. You enact the "Try to make amends" decision. Bobby of Hightown gets an event: "Player Character Wants to Make Amends!" with the options you outlined. This way, the person you're trying to make amends with has the issue brought straight to his attention, and everything moves much smoother.

Thanks. :)

I'm a bit wary about decisions, a lot of the fun in CK is watching what your character gets up to I don't want to suddenly decide who he makes friends with or which courtier he sleeps with. I can see how they could be used though, an "organise great hunt" decision for example I don't think would greatly disinvolve oneself from the experience...
I think I'll wait until more information is available.

A personal decision could to join or leave a crusade. If you join you get some prestige and piety and if you leave you lose prestige and piety (and perhaps even gain the trait coward).

There must of course be a very good reason to leave a crusade if it only gives you bad things. But it could be that your heir, who you left at home is stirring up the barons in your province to have him made ruler instead of you.
